In the past week, which was otherwise very quiet, police made 20 motor vehicle stops; 10 resulted in verbal warnings, nine in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation, which carries a financial penalty. Officers also issued or renewed a firearm permit and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Feb. 6
At 11:29 a.m. a caller reported two dogs loose on West Bare Hill Road; shortly thereafter, the caller told police he had located the dogs’ owner.
Wednesday, Feb. 7
At 12:24 p.m. an Ayer Road resident called to tell police coyotes had attacked his dog a few days earlier; the animal control officer was informed. At 9:08 p.m. an officer saw a parked car that was blocking a lane on Madigan Lane; the owner was asked to move it and did so.
Thursday, Feb. 8
At 8:08 a.m. two cars collided near the intersection of Littleton and Shaker roads; no one was injured and damage was minor.
Friday, Feb. 9
At 8:14 p.m. Boxborough police asked for backup at a reported fistfight on Mass. Ave., but the combatants had departed when police arrived.
Saturday, Feb. 10
At 3:10 p.m. police received a report of trespassers at the old Oak Ridge Observatory on Pinnacle Road. Police searched the area but found no one.
Sunday, Feb. 11, and Monday, Feb. 12
Nothing significant to report.
