The Ambulance Service responded to three calls but transported no patients to the hospital; there were no motor vehicle collisions or lift assists.
Thursday, Feb. 15
At 6:47 a.m. a 911 call took the duty officer to a South Shaker Road home where the smoke detector was chirping; replacing the batteries solved the problem.
Friday, Feb. 16
At 4:50 a.m. a carbon monoxide alarm went off at a house on Madigan Lane; the duty officer checked the house but found no trace of carbon monoxide. At 9:15 a.m. a smoke detector sounded at a Woodchuck Hill Road home; the duty officer found the problem was again the batteries.
Saturday, Feb. 17
At 9:44 a.m. the District 8 technical rescue team, including a Harvard firefighter, was called to Fitchburg to help recover a man’s body from the Nashua River, under the Bemis Road bridge.
Monday, Feb. 19
At 3:32 p.m. the duty officer was called to a home on Scott Road, but no report was yet available, other than that the fire had been extinguished when the officer arrived.
