A few days ago when I stopped in at Town Hall to buy a sticker for the Transfer Station, I was surprised, disappointed, and offended that I must pay $130 for two stickers. I live alone, I own one car, and deposit one small plastic bag of garbage there about every six weeks. Of course, I recycle. This arrangement doesn’t seem just. A one-car, one-person family should be able to buy one sticker, and at a lower rate.
There must be a range of alternate possibilities on how to distribute more equitably the expenses of the Transfer Station among the town’s households.
