Police made 36 motor vehicle stops in the past week; 21 resulted in verbal warnings, and 15 in written warnings or citations. Officers also issued or renewed a firearm license, made three well-being checks, dealt with a disabled vehicle, and responded to one false burglar alarm. The Ambulance Service was called to five medical emergencies and took three people to the hospital, one with Advanced Life Support services in attendance; two people refused transport.
Tuesday, May 31
At 9:51 p.m. police received a 911 call on which loud voices could be heard; a woman spoke of being dragged somewhere. Littleton and Boxborough police were notified, and officers tried unsuccessfully to pinpoint the source of the call. An officer stopped a car seen turning around on Ayer Road, but it proved unrelated. Police eventually concluded the call might have been meant for Harvard University police or perhaps a town of Harvard in another state.
Wednesday, June 1
At 6:24 a.m. a caller reported a rollover accident on Route 2 westbound; fire and ambulance services from Harvard and Littleton responded, but the driver refused ambulance transport. At 11:21 a.m. a Simon Atherton Row resident called to report a stolen broom. At 2:16 p.m. a person reported a fraudulent debit on their account. At 3:45 p.m. someone came to the station to report an assault involving juveniles that had taken place at the town beach the previous weekend. At 4:03 p.m. a Turner Lane caller reported a fawn in the road; it soon ran off into the woods. At 4:08 p.m. a caller reported flooding on Myrick Lane, where the storm drain had been blocked. At 7:15 p.m. a camper hit a low-hanging wire on Mettacomet Path, damaging both the wire and the solar panel on the camper roof. At 9:29 p.m. a caller reported squealing tires and a possible collision on Blanchard Road; police checked the area and found nothing. At 9:42 p.m. state police asked Harvard to send a cruiser to a crash on Route 2 westbound.
Thursday, June 2
At 7:09 p.m. a caller reported finding the remnants of what appeared to be a Molotov cocktail—a cloth fuse stuffed into a bottle containing gasoline—near the Depot Road soccer fields.
Friday, June 3
At 9:57 a.m. an officer asked the Department of Public Works to remove a dead animal from Still River Road. At 10:59 p.m. a Bolton Road resident called 911 to report hearing shots; police searched the area without result.
Saturday, June 4:
At 2:21 p.m. a collision at the General Store left a car in need of a tow; two people refused ambulance transport, and the Fire Department cleaned up fluids. At 5:30 p.m. a 911 caller told police that two kids near an island in Bare Hill Pond had been calling for help; she said her husband had taken out a boat to bring them back to shore, and everything was now OK. At 6:32 p.m. someone called with suspicions about a man the caller said was hanging around the elementary school playground; police checked the area and spoke with other parents there, none of whom had seen anyone matching the description given by the caller.

Monday, June 6
At 5:43 p.m. an officer stopped a car for speeding on Oak Hill Road and found the 22-year-old Fitchburg man had no driver’s license; the man received a summons both for speeding and for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
