The Bromfield Trojans shut out the Maynard Tigers 2-0 in an away game Nov. 12, their last of the season. The team had been scheduled to play its final game the following day against Hudson but it was rained out.
Senior Olivia Kehoe and freshman Ana Lora scored Bromfield’s two goals, each assisted by junior Tallie Dutkewych. Both were scored in the fourth quarter, with the final point coming in the closing minutes of the game. Coach Kathryn Hayward had praise for junior goalie Annabel Ashe, who held Maynard’s offense at bay for four quarters with five saves, including one late in the fourth quarter when Bromfield still led by only a single goal, 1-0.
With their win against Maynard, the girls ended the season with a 5-3-1 record.
“Even though this season was much different than past ones, we came together and worked hard each day to improve and grow as a team,” Hayward wrote the Press in an email. “We worked on our small-sided, two-touch game and by the last game against Maynard you could really see that come together. We focused on keeping it fun for the girls; it was a nice change of pace.”
