During the past week, police made 14 motor vehicle stops, three resulting in verbal warnings and 11 in written warnings or citations. They issued two parking tickets, helped one motorist with a disabled vehicle, and assisted another who was locked out of a car. Officers also responded to four medical emergencies, all of which led to patients being transported to area hospitals, two with Advanced Life Support services. Police issued or renewed one firearm permit and answered calls for three false burglar alarms.

Thursday, August 22
At 6:30 a.m. an officer issued a summons to a minor who was charged with disturbing the peace and possessing liquor, as well as giving liquor to others who were under the legal age for alcohol. The charges resulted from a previous party. At 8:47 a.m. someone on Tahanto Trail called about a car that had been parked in the area for some time. Police identified the owner as a jogger in the neighborhood. At 12:53 p.m. a Bolton resident called police there about a black pit bull and a German shepherd on Sugar Road; the matter was referred to Harvard’s animal control officer.
Friday, August 23
At 12:10 a.m. a Partridge Hill Road resident called because someone had rung the doorbell and run away, a nuisance that has happened before. The police did not find anyone in the area. At 3:17 p.m. someone reported that a car had struck a utility pole on Ayer Road. No one was injured, and National Grid was notified. At 6:52 p.m. an officer responded to a burglar alarm at the Bromfield School. A person who had recently moved to town was looking at the school with their child and had set off the alarm when they entered through an unlocked door. At 11:49 p.m. Ayer police asked Harvard officers to check on a man and a woman who were arguing loudly and making threats on Littleton Road in Ayer; Ayer officers were on another call at the time.
Saturday, August 24
At 6:43 p.m. a resident of Ann Lees Road called to complain of someone harassing them.
Sunday, August 25
Between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., Harvard police made 12 of the 14 vehicle stops that were noted in the opening summary. All were on Ayer Road, Route 495, or Route 2, and were part of a click-it-or-ticket program.
