2018 Transfer Station permits available June 4
Starting Monday, June 4, Transfer Station stickers can be purchased at Town Hall during normal business hours, by mail, or online.
Fees are:
- Purchased prior to July 1, 2018: $250
- Purchased July 1-31, 2018: $275
- Purchased Aug. 1, 2018, through June 30, 2019: $305
- Seniors (age 65 or older): $35
Stickers must be affixed inside the lower left corner of the vehicle windshield. Vehicles entering the Transfer Station without a valid sticker will be subject to fines.

Become an EMT with the ambulance service
The Harvard Ambulance Service will train those interested in becoming EMTs. The next class will start in the fall. Email hr@harvarddems.org.

On display at the library
The public is invited to see the books and items related to Ramadan on display in the cases in the Children’s Room at the library. This exhibit is made possible by Arm in Arm.
Volunteers with construction background needed
If you work in the construction field and would like to help ensure that the new elementary school is built to last more than 50 years, please consider volunteering to help the Hildreth Elementary School Building Committee. Want front-row seats at Bromfield graduation?
The Bromfield Celebration Committee is auctioning off two sets of front-row seats to graduation. Bidding will be open until June 5. All proceeds from the auction will benefit Celebration, the substance-free post-prom party that has kept Bromfield juniors and seniors safe for more than 20 years.
Minimum bid for one set of two seats is $200. Bids should be made in $50 increments. Buy all four seats now for $1,000, or buy two seats now for $500. Email 2018gradseats@gmail.com with bids or questions.
MWCC introduces Paramedic Technology Certificate program
Mount Wachusett Community College (MWCC) in Gardner has announced a new Paramedic Technology Certificate program, one of only nine such programs in Massachusetts. With limited space, admission to the program will be selective. The deadline for application is July 1, and classes will begin September 4. There will be three information sessions to provide interested applicants with details.
- Thursday, May 31, at 2:30 p.m.
- Monday, June 11, at 3 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 19, at 5 p.m.
Applicants must have an EMT certification and at least one year of experience or contact with a minimum of 75 patients. More information at https://mwcc.edu/academics/degrees-certificates.
(Re)name the Cultural Collaborative!
The Harvard Cultural Collaborative (HCC) has launched a re-branding campaign and seeks a new name that is creative, joyful, exciting, and emblematic of its mission to serve Harvard and surrounding communities. The name should appeal to all generations and also entice passers-by to take notice. Visit harvardculture.org and submit as many ideas as you wish.
Submissions will be reviewed and the chosen name will be announced Thursday, July 7. A new logo will also be created, and a new sign will be unveiled at a grand re-opening ceremony in early 2019. The person who submits the winning idea will be honored.
Town bylaw committee seeks help
The special committee required by the Town Charter (Section 8-5(c)) to review bylaws seeks seven registered voters.
