Boy Scouts Matthew Adams and William Hopper were honored in an Oct. 14 ceremony in Volunteers Hall for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor a Boy Scout can achieve. Both Adams and Hopper are Bromfield seniors.
For his Eagle Scout project, Adams designed, planned, and coordinated a team of 10 Scouts to rebuild a snowmobile bridge near Fruitlands. The former bridge had damage to its three supporting beams and was too narrow for the machine that grooms the trails to pass. His parents are Mark and Tracey Adams of Barton Road.
Hopper completed a similar project, rebuilding a bridge that was in disrepair over a stream on the Ohlin conservation land. He also designed, planned, and directed a group of 10 Scouts to complete the work. His parents are David and Maureen Hopper of Littleton Road.
