Waylon Otis Brown, age 33, of Melrose, formerly of Freeport, Maine, and Lexington, died unexpectedly on July 11, 2017

He was the beloved husband of Sadie C. (Richards) Brown; loving father of Otis Sumner Brown; devoted son of Mark Brown and his wife, Lisa, of Harvard and Liz (Dupre) Brown and her husband, Deron Barton, of Portland, Maine; and son-in-law of Mary Holland of Windsor, Vermont. Waylon was also the cherished brother of Wyatt Brown, Lacey Bell, and Terra Barton; and grandson of Donna Brown and John J. Dupre and the late Otis Sumner Brown and Anne Dupre. He is also survived by two nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends gathered to honor, remember, and celebrate Waylon’s life Tuesday, July 25, at Fruitlands Museum. Contributions may be made to the Otis Brown Fund at any Eastern Bank location. To share a memory or offer a condolence, visit www.badgerfuneral.com.

Note: Mary Holland, Waylon Brown’s mother-in-law and former longtime Press columnist (“It’s Only Natural”), writes that a fund has been
set up to help her daughter with expenses she will face in raising her son. Mary asks anyone who has considered donating to her “Naturally Curious” blog to consider giving to the Sadie Brown and Otis Brown Fund instead.
