Boys tennis loses to Groton-Dunstable and Worcester High

The Bromfield boys varsity tennis team faced Groton-Dunstable, away, on Wednesday, April 27, losing by a score of 3–2. Then on Thursday, April 28, the Trojans fell to Worcester South 5–0 at their second away game of the week.

In the first of the two matchups, the Trojans challenged the Crusaders, who, with a season record of 2–5, to the Trojans’ 2–4, proved to be evenly matched opponents. Noah Dyer, second singles, and Jake Catalina, third singles, took home the only two victories of the day. Dyer finished his match with a score of 7–5, 6–3, and Catalina with a score of 6–4, 2–6, and 6–2.

The following day, the Trojans went on to face South High Community School in Worcester, home of the Colonials. Worcester South, a powerful opponent with a season record of 5–1, overpowered the Trojans and clinched the event with a score of 5–0. The closest match of the day was the second doubles, ending with 6–3, 6–3 in favor of the Colonials, played by Bromfield’s Sam Pisal and Matt Canning. Raymond Li, first singles, and Dyer, second singles, followed behind in close scores, losing their games 6–3, 6–2 and 6–2, 6–3, respectively.

The Trojans were set to face Gardner High School, away, on Tuesday, May 3.
