The Bromfield golf team placed first in the Mid-Wachusett Division D League championship match on Tuesday, Oct. 14, with a score of 236 at the par 70 Townsend Ridge Country Club. Leading the way was junior Ray Ruenheck with an 80 (third place), followed by junior Co-Captain John Seymour with an 82 (fourth place), junior Ryan Bollman with an 86 (tie for seventh), sophomore Jack Shelton with an 88 (tie for twelfth), sophomore Scott Jarosz with a 90, and junior Co-Captain Jake Frackiewicz with a 103. The combined score of the top four team members gave the team a six-point win over Tahanto, which finished second.

The same six golfers competed in the Central Division 3 championships with players from other leagues on Monday, Oct. 20, at the par 72 Blissful Meadows Country Club in Uxbridge. There were 14 teams at the match, and Bromfield came in fifth with a score of 335. The winning team (Sutton) had 317, but only five points separated the second and fifth place teams. Individually, Seymour carded a 79, good enough for sixth place, and Ruenheck scored an 81, finishing ninth. Both boys have qualified for the Division 3 state championships next week in Georgetown.
