This week police made 17 motor vehicle stops. Six resulted in citations or written warnings; 11 resulted in verbal warnings. Two drivers were arrested.
Tuesday, Feb. 25
At 12:50 a.m. police responded to the scene of a single-car accident on Massachusetts Avenue, where a car went off the road and struck a guard rail. The officer who made the stop arrested 28-year-old Jennifer Lynn Tremblay of Reading on charges of speeding, operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stay within marked lanes. Police and ambulance personnel responded to an emergency at a medical office on Ayer Road at 10:34 a.m.; the ambulance subsequently transported a woman to Emerson Hospital with an Advanced Life Support paramedic on board. At 1:33 p.m. a caller on Old Littleton Road reported suspicions about two men who appeared to be scrutinizing a neighbor’s house a little too closely. Police found the two men on the roadside; one was waiting for a prearranged ride; the other was taking a walk.
Wednesday, Feb. 26
At 2:04 p.m. police and the ambulance squad responded to an emergency at a medical office on Ayer Road. The ambulance, with an ALS paramedic on board, transported a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. The Ayer ambulance responded to a medical emergency on Warren Avenue eight minutes later and took a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center, with an ALS paramedic on board.
Thursday, Feb. 27
An Ayer Road resident called the station at 4:34 p.m. to report a dead deer in her driveway. Police advised the woman that a dead animal on someone’s property is the responsibility of the homeowner.
Friday, Feb. 28
Police and ambulance personnel responded to a medical emergency on Ayer Road at 2:18 a.m. The ambulance, with an ALS paramedic on board, took a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. Acting on an outstanding warrant issued under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 123, Section 35, which provides for the commitment of a person for substance abuse treatment, police arrested Lauren B. Andrews, 24, of Blanchard Road at 9:24 a.m. At 10:50 a.m. a Harvard resident called to report a case of identity theft, in which an unknown person filed a tax return via TurboTax using the caller’s Social Security number. Police advised the caller to file a police report and contact the Internal Revenue Service. At 11:05 a.m. police responded to the scene of an accident in a store parking lot on Ayer Road, which happened when a delivery truck that was pulling out of a parking spot accidentally struck a parked car, tearing off its bumper. The car was towed. The Bromfield School principal called at 11:19 a.m. to report that a .22 caliber gun shell casing had been found in a hallway at the school. Police say that the investigating officer determined that the shell, which was crushed and mangled, was likely tracked in on someone’s boot, and there was no need for further action. At 4:20 p.m. police and the ambulance responded to a medical emergency at Bromfield; the ambulance transported a student to Emerson Hospital.
Saturday, March 1
An officer on patrol stopped a car on Ayer Road for speeding at 2:40 a.m. and arrested 22-year-old Alana Marie Perla of Leominster, whom they charged with speeding, operating under the influence of liquor, and failure to stay within marked lanes. At 5:58 a.m. a caller on Ayer Road reported a dead deer on the side of the road. Police left a message with the Department of Public Works to remove the carcass. Someone called the station at 8:18 p.m. to report a suspicious-looking car parked at McCurdy Track. The investigating officer advised the driver of the car to move along. Boxborough police called at 9:54 p.m. to report that they had observed a car being driven erratically headed toward Harvard. Harvard officers did not locate the vehicle. Fearing that a flashing light at a neighbor’s house might have been someone signaling for help, a Brown Road resident called police at 10:11 p.m. to report it. Police say that, after investigating, the responding officer determined that the light at the neighbor’s house was faulty.

Monday, March 3
At 1:32 a.m. a Depot Road resident called because her carbon monoxide alarm was sounding and she couldn’t shut it off. A fire officer responded, determined that CO levels were normal, and reset the alarm.
