Celebration 2014 needs you

All members of the community are invited to help with the Bromfield School’s substance-free, all-night, post-prom event—Celebration 2014—which will take place Friday, May 16, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Members of the community are invited to view the decorations at the school from 9 to 10 p.m.

Since its inception, Celebration has been the community’s way of keeping its youth safe after the prom by providing the best fun in town. The event is created by volunteers and funded through donations. The Celebration 2014 Committee is asking for volunteers for all aspects of the event, from set-up, publicity, and chaperoning to entertainment, food, and tear-down. It is also asking for event sponsorship, both from families and businesses. To volunteer your help, contact Jana at janawirch@gmail.com. To sponsor the event, send donations to: Harvard PTO – Celebration, P.O. Box 488, Harvard, MA 01451. Donations are tax-deductible; the Harvard PTO’s tax ID number is 043-084-462.

Town Democrats to elect convention delegates

Democrats in Harvard will hold a caucus Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Harvard. The caucus will elect three delegates and three alternates to the Massachusetts Democratic Convention, where delegates will vote to endorse candidates for statewide office. The convention will be held June 13 and 14 at the DCU Center in Worcester.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Harvard, and the Democratic Committee welcomes participants. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret. Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply as “add-on” delegates. More information is at www.massdems.org.
