Tuesday, Sept. 24
At 2:10 a.m. and at the request of the on-duty officer, the ambulance transported a female party deemed suicidal from a Glenview Drive residence to Emerson Hospital. At 8:15 a.m., a Prospect Hill Road resident reported seeing a green Chevy acting suspiciously. The car was following a Harvard school bus, and was later seen driving back and forth on the same road. An officer attempted to locate the vehicle, but it was not in the area. A Slough Road resident called at 11:30 a.m. to report the theft of a GPS unit from his car. The incident is under investigation. A motorist brought a set of keys to the police station at 5:07 p.m. that had been found near Still River Road and Willow Road. A Shaw’s card and a fitness card were also attached. The keys have yet to be claimed. At 5:20 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Ayer Road. The driver of a northbound car had slammed on her brakes as she attempted to avoid an exposed drain and was struck from behind by a second vehicle. There were no injuries. The second vehicle was towed, and the driver was issued a written warning for following the first car too closely. The on-duty fire officer responded to an 8:19 p.m. call from an Old Boston Turnpike resident who was concerned his oil burner was not functioning properly. When the officer arrived, the owner had already informed his oil company and a service vehicle was on its way.
Wednesday, Sept. 25
At 10:40 a.m., a resident brought an old Huffy bike to the station; it had been found near Old Shirley Road and Ayer Road. Police were left to guess whether it had been forgotten by its owner or simply abandoned.
Thursday, Sept. 26
An Old Shirley Road resident called police at 2:30 p.m. to report a bear in the area. When an officer checked, the animal was gone.
Friday, Sept. 27
Police returned a recently found license plate to its owner. The unidentified party had reported the plate missing on July 4. At 7:50 p.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Ayer Road near Old Mill Road with its emergency lights flashing. The driver was waiting for another party to show up.
Saturday, Sept. 28
An Ayer Road resident called to complain of noise from someone who was playing the drums. It was 12:30 a.m. Police asked the drummer to stop, and he did. About 1:00 p.m. a Fruitlands staff member reported that a motorcycle was speeding on Prospect Hill Road. An officer checked the area, but the cyclist was gone.
Sunday, Sept. 29
At 10:30 a.m., a resident of Ann Lees Road complained that an unregistered boat trailer was parked near his home. An officer spoke to the owner, who had it removed.
Monday, Sept. 30
An officer spoke with the owner of a car with a broken rear window, which was parked on Lovers Lane. He was concerned the car might have been vandalized. The owner said she had accidentally backed into a mailbox.
