A resident came to the station at 10:55 a.m. to drop off a credit card that had been left at Willard’s Farm Stand. The owner was notified and came to the station to retrieve it at 3:05 p.m. At 11:30 a.m. the ambulance transported a female resident of St. John’s Lane to Emerson Hospital with advanced life support (ALS) on board. Shortly after noon, police returned a cooler to a member of the group that had been illegally drinking beer at the McCurdy track on Lancaster County Road some weeks ago. The contents of the containers inside had been destroyed, but the containers remained so their bottle deposit could be claimed. The ambulance with ALS on board transported a male resident of Lancaster County Road to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Wednesday, September 18
A woman housesitting at a residence on Stow Road called at 3:55 p.m. to report receiving a strange phone call. Police advised her to call if it happened again.
Thursday, September 19
At 9:20 a.m. police went to a residence on Cleaves Hill Road to check on a male occupant who had not answered an RUOK call. The party hadn’t heard the phone ring and was fine. A caller reported at 11:13 a.m. that a large oak tree had fallen across Shaker Road, taking down wires as it fell. Police closed the road, called DPW to cut up the tree, and asked National Grid to send a crew to repair the wires. At 6:15 p.m., two parents and their underage daughter came to the station to report a sexual assault. The matter is under investigation. No charges have been filed.
Friday, September 20
A female resident of Tahanto Trail reported at 8:22 p.m. that her smoke detector was chirping. After changing its battery she called back to say no help was needed. The ambulance responded at 11:17 p.m. to a request for ALS for a woman living on Slough Road. She was transported to Emerson Hospital. At 12:12 p.m. state police asked the fire department to send a truck to the scene of an accident in the eastbound lane of Route 2. The crew determined that no fluids were leaking from the damaged car, which was then towed. Later that afternoon, an anonymous caller asked that the on-duty fire officer check out a “bad smell” coming from a nearby residence. A fire truck was dispatched at 4:15 p.m., but was unable to detect the offending odor. At 6:57 p.m. a Park Lane resident called for an ambulance but refused treatment when it arrived. Fifteen minutes later, an Ayer Road resident called for the ambulance. A patient was transported from the home to an area hospital with ALS on board. A woman living on Myrick Lane reported seeing a silver car with two male occupants near her home about 9:32 p.m. She said she believed the two men fit the descriptions of two sex offenders wanted by the Ayer police. But the Ayer police, when contacted, said they were not looking for any such parties. When police arrived at the scene they found no one. The woman said she had heard the story from a friend.
Saturday, September 21
At 5:05 p.m. an officer checked out an alarm that had sounded on the second floor of the Ayer Road Dunkin’ Donuts. The alarm was false. An officer was sent at 5:18 p.m. to investigate some children who were reportedly playing on rocks at a construction site near West Bare Hill Road and Warren Avenue. When he arrived at 5:28 p.m., no one was there. At 5:36, a Medstar ambulance reported seeing a possible car fire near the Taylor Road exit of Route 2. When an officer arrived, he found a disabled motor vehicle at the side of the road, but no fire. On Madigan Lane at 11:25 p.m. police stopped a vehicle whose female driver had been operating the car erratically. The driver, a Harvard resident, said she hadn’t known where she was going. The officer determined she was not operating under the influence and sent her on her way. There were no charges.
Sunday, September 22
At 11:43 a.m. a male resident of Littleton Road called the ambulance for an assist. He was transported to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A resident came to the station at about 12:42 p.m. to drop off a Mini Cooper key that had been found at the Town Beach. The key has not yet been claimed. Another resident came by at 5:28 p.m. with a large golf umbrella that had been left at the McCurdy Track. No one has claimed it. At 4:43 p.m., an Ayer Road resident reported the theft of $2,000 in cash. There had been no forced entry. The theft is under investigation. There are no suspects.
Monday, September 23
The ambulance with ALS on board transported a male resident of Highland Avenue to the Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 10:30 a.m. A woman living on Stow Road called at 4:48 p.m. to request a do-not-harass order. She said she had received a call from an ex-girl-friend of her son, but police determined it was not a criminal offense. At 7:10 p.m. a resident of White Lane reported seeing a suspicious vehicle, a red Honda, parked near her home. Police were able to identify the vehicle, which belonged to an owner in Bolton, but when they followed up, they found nothing significant to report.
