Tuesday, Oct. 1
At 1:21 a.m. an officer noticed a car with cancelled plates parked behind an Ayer Road office building. The car belonged to an employee of one of the firms located within the facility; the owner was notified of the violation. A Weston resident came to the police station at 11:30 a.m. to report that an item had been stolen from his car while he was in Bolton. Police advised him to report the matter to the Bolton police. A Still River resident called police at 8:24 p.m. to report finding that a porch door normally kept closed had been opened. Police investigated, but could find no evidence of a forced entry. At 11:55 p.m. a female resident of Quarry Lane reported seeing a strange car pulling into her driveway. By the time an officer responded, the car was no longer present.
Wednesday, Oct. 2
Police responded to a report of a minor accident in the parking lot of an Ayer Road office building. A vehicle had been struck and pushed off the driveway, and had to be towed. No citations were issued. The incident occurred at 10:45 a.m. At 1:35 p.m. the ambulance was called to South Shaker Road and transported a female resident to Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
Thursday, Oct. 3
About 2 p.m. a female passenger fell while exiting a bus at Fruitlands. The ambulance transported the injured party to Emerson Hospital. Later that evening, at 8:52 p.m., police responded to an alarm at the same location. The alarm was false.
Friday, Oct. 4
Someone reported at 9:42 a.m. that a large truck near the intersection of Littleton Road and Orchard Hill Road was acting suspiciously. An officer checked and found the vehicle was making a delivery. At 11:13 a.m., a contractor working at the police station reported finding a fresh scratch on his car. Police are checking camera recordings to determine whether the damage was while the car was parked at the station.
Saturday, Oct. 5
Police, the ambulance service, and the fire department responded to a two-car accident on Ayer Road about 10:09 a.m. Both cars had to be towed. The two drivers refused treatment. Police issued one citation. About 10:38 a.m., a car rolled downhill from the fire station into the historic 1812 town powder house. The driver had apparently failed to set his emergency brake. The fire chief and town building inspector were advised of the incident (see story). A Harvard resident came to the police station at 11:11 a.m. to report seeing a child walking barefoot in the “Take It or Leave It” area of the town dump. He wanted to report the incident as child neglect, but police advised him that walking barefoot was not necessarily sufficient evidence for such a charge. Police have been unable to identify the parents of the child. A concerned citizen reported seeing the elderly driver of a Subaru back into a wall at the town beach. Police followed up at 11: 40, but were unable to locate the driver or the vehicle. At 10 p.m. an officer reported breaking up a fight involving four guests at a wedding party at Fruitlands. One male was arrested and charged with assault and battery; the two victims of the assault and the one other party involved were not charged.
Sunday, Oct. 6
A man came to the police station to complain he had drunk some apple cider that made him sick. The complaint was logged at 9:35 a.m., but the police took no action. At 12:47 p.m. a male resident of Ayer Road was transported to Clinton Hospital. A Littleton County Road resident complained of hearing the sound of shooting at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club at 6:40 p.m. A Boxborough officer investigated and found the gate to the club open, but found no one on the property. The police notified a club official.
Monday, Oct. 7
At 6:48 a.m. an officer on patrol reported seeing a fallen tree limb on Oak Hill Road. The highway department was notified. Police responded to a 5:48 p.m. report of a motion detector alarm at a residence on Still River Road. The officer found nothing amiss. The ambulance was called to a Warren Avenue residence at 5:48 p.m. and transported a male patient to the Nashoba Valley Medical Center.
