Police noted an unoccupied car parked at a business on Ayer Road at 1:09 a.m. At 6:42 a.m., officers notified the Department of Public Works that slippery roads around town were in need of treatment. The ambulance transported a woman to Emerson Hospital from an Ayer Road address at 2:33 p.m. Firefighters were called at 3:43 p.m. to rescue a dog that had fallen through some ice on Westcott Road. The ambulance was called to a Stow Road home at 4:17 p.m., but medical service was refused. Medical service was also refused after the ambulance responded to a call at a Park Lane residence at 6:14 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 26
The ambulance took a woman to Emerson Hospital from a Shaker Road address at 8:12 a.m. At 6:48 p.m. a Bolton Road caller reported missing a package that should have already been delivered. Police contacted the delivery service for details and assisted the resident in locating the package. The Department of Public Works was notified by police that slippery roads were again in need of treatment.
Thursday, Dec. 27
The ambulance was called to the scene of an accident on Route 2 and transported two people to Emerson Hospital. Slippery road conditions sent vehicles off the road at several locations around town at 6:44 a.m., 6:08 p.m., 6:33 p.m., 7:55 p.m., 8:05 p.m., and 8:17 p.m. There were no injuries; tow trucks were called to rescue the cars. At 9:15 p.m. police responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at a home on Old Mill Road and arrested one person, who was released four hours later on personal recognizance.
Friday, Dec. 28
Police made note of an unoccupied vehicle parked at an Ayer Road business at 2:14 a.m. At 8:58 a.m. police assisted an environmental police officer in questioning a hunter at the Oxbow parking lot. At 6:30 p.m. police served an Old Mill Road resident with a 209A protective order in connection with an incident on Thursday evening.
Saturday, Dec. 29
At 3:18 a.m. Harvard police provided coverage for a police call in Ayer while Ayer officers were occupied on another call. Police responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Still River Road at 8:50 p.m. and stood by until a tow truck arrived.
Sunday, Dec. 30
Police made note of an unoccupied car parked in the Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot at 2:53 a.m. At 4:54 a.m. a caller reported that snow had been deliberately plowed in front of the doorway of a business on Ayer Road. Police are investigating. Police responded to a call about a car off the road on Old Shirley Road at 9:30 p.m. No one was injured; police stood by until a tow truck arrived. Another car was reported off the road at 9:52 a.m. on Ayer Road at Mill Road. No injuries were reported; officers stood by until a tow truck arrived to help. Police received a call at 7:10 p.m., reporting that a deer had been struck by a plow on Lancaster County Road, and notified Animal Control to look for the injured animal.
