At 9:33 a.m., police received a report of a minor hit-and-run accident at a home on Ayer Road. According to a homeowner there, a bus damaged the newspaper delivery box while turning around. The homeowner told police the newspaper box was out of use and he was just going to take it down. At 4:42 p.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious car parked at the end of a resident’s driveway on Littleton Road. According to police the driver of the car had run out of gas and was waiting for his wife to arrive with some fuel. She did and he drove away.
Wednesday, Dec. 12
At 8:17 a.m., police received a report of rocks in the road and a damaged stop sign at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Littleton County Road. The damage was likely the result of a hit-and-run accident, police say. Police contacted highway officials to replace the stop sign. At 9:43 a.m., a Bolton Road resident asked to speak to an officer regarding an ongoing dispute. Police referred the disputants to their attorneys.
Thursday, Dec. 13
At 8:56 a.m., an Oak Hill woman reported a ladder had been stolen from her property. According to police, the thief had taken one piece of the extension ladder, but left the other piece. The ladder had been intact where she left it, the homeowner told police. The incident is under investigation, police say. At 2:57 p.m., an Ayer Road resident reported a suspicious van with no markings parked at a neighbor’s home. Police say the van belonged to workers who were authorized to be on the property. At 3:01 p.m., a police officer spotted a woman walking along Ayer Road and jumping around to stay warm in the cold. The officer gave the woman a ride home. At 6:13 p.m., the State Police asked Harvard police to respond to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route 2 westbound. Police say the accident was very minor. The drivers of the two cars involved exchanged information and drove away, police report.
Friday, Dec. 14
At 1:24 a.m., police investigated a car parked late at the Appleworks building on Ayer Road. The driver went on his way, police report.

Sunday, Dec. 16
At 9:46 a.m., a Lancaster County Road resident reported his mailbox had been damaged overnight. Police say they have no suspects in the incident. At 12:56 p.m., police and medical personnel responded to Peninsula Road for a report of an injured water skier. At 1 p.m., police received a report that an EMT responding to an ambulance call had driven off the road on Ayer Road. The EMT’s car was towed, police say, and there were no injuries reported.
Monday, Dec. 17
At 2:04 p.m., an officer checked out a building on Ayer Road because the lights were on at a time when they are usually out. Police say everything was fine at the building. At 4:06 a.m., Harvard police assisted at the scene of a rollover car accident on Route 2 eastbound. At 5:04 p.m., a Prospect Hill Road resident reported an unknown vehicle in the driveway. Police say the vehicle belonged to a neighbor who had put the car there temporarily because the neighbor’s driveway was too icy to drive down. At 9:53 p.m., an East Bare Hill Road resident reported hearing a transformer exploding in the area. Police checked the area but report they couldn’t locate any exploded transformers. Police informed National Grid of the report.
