At 1:09 a.m., someone dropped off a lost dog at the police station on Ayer Road. Animal control located the owner and returned the dog. At 7:01 p.m., police investigated a vehicle parked on a traffic circle on Trail Ridge Way. There was nothing suspicious about the car, police report.
Wednesday, Oct. 17
At 1:02 a.m., police received a report of an erratic driver in the area of Ayer and Still River roads. Police searched the area, but could not locate the vehicle. At 12:35 p.m., a manager at Dunkin’ Donuts on Ayer Road reported a case of larceny. According to the manager, a man had paid for a $2 order with a $50 bill and then subsequently confused the cashier, claiming he hadn’t received change yet, and ended up walking away with an extra $49 in change. The manager gave the man’s license plate to police, who used it to locate and speak to the man. The man didn’t admit to deliberately confusing the Dunkin’ Donuts employee, police say, but he agreed to return the extra $49. At 3:24 p.m., an Oak Hill woman asked to speak to police about a case of suspected larceny in Leominster. Someone had opened up a Target credit card there in her name, the woman said. Police referred the woman to Leominster Police. At 4:33 p.m., an anonymous female called police to report a bus was blocking the driveway into the Bromfield school. Police asked the bus driver to move.
Thursday, Oct. 18
At 10:06 a.m., a staff member of the Healing Garden on Bolton Road reported finding empty alcohol containers in the parking lot. Police say they don’t know who put the containers there.
Friday, Oct. 19
At 10:49 a.m., a resident of Wilroy Avenue asked to speak to an officer. Police report the issue was a property dispute between members of the neighborhood association there and not a police matter.
Saturday, Oct. 20
At 12:39 p.m., police responded to a report of a single-vehicle accident on Eldridge Road. According to police, a female motorcyclist had lost control of her motorcycle on some wet leaves going through a curve and had fallen over. The woman was taken to Emerson Hospital with minor injuries, police report. At 3:22 p.m., police received a report that a horse had run into the side of a vehicle driving on Ayer Road near Whitney Road. As of press time, police did not have a report on the condition of the horse. At 5:25 p.m., the field commissioner at the soccer field on Depot Road asked police to remove someone who had refused to leave. The unwanted person was gone by the time they arrived, police say.
Sunday, Oct. 21
At 4:15 p.m., a resident of Old Mill Road reported that a hunter had left a game camera on her property. Police located the hunter, a Lunenburg man, and instructed him to stay off private property. At 7:30 p.m., Stow Police asked Harvard Police to check the Harvard side of the area near the Delaney Flood Control Site for a particular person. Stow Police later reported finding the person in Stow.
Monday, Oct. 22
At 8:06 p.m., the Harvard Fire Department responded to a small cooking fire at a home on Pinnacle Road. No damage was reported.
