At 7:24 p.m., police received a complaint that a loose dog was being a nuisance on Prospect Hill Road. Police located the dog’s owner, who brought it back to its house. At 7:07 p.m., police responded to a domestic incident and arrested one Harvard man on a charge of domestic assault and battery. The man was arraigned in Clinton District Court and posted bail, police say.
Wednesday, March 28
At 1:33 p.m., police investigated a suspicious motor vehicle that was speeding away from a South Shaker Road home. The vehicle checked out, police say.
Thursday, March 29
At 11:16 a.m., police investigated a report of larceny from a cell tower site on Old Shirley Road. Police say someone had stolen copper cell phone equipment that would cost $750 to replace. It is unknown who did it, police say. At 6:08 p.m., police discovered that a stop sign at the intersection of Depot and Old Shirley roads had been vandalized with spray paint. The Department of Public Works removed and replaced the sign. At 6:32 p.m., police responded to a request to check on the welfare of a West Bare Hill Road resident. The person was fine, police say.
Friday, March 30
At 5:18 p.m., police received a report of a dog barking at a home on Old Mill Road. No one was home at that home, the reporting party told police. An officer responded and reported finding no dogs barking. At 9:54 p.m., Harvard Police received a report from Ayer Police that an erratic driver was headed into Harvard on Ayer Road. Officers checked Ayer Road down to Route 2 and, finding nothing, alerted the State Police in case the driver had gotten on Route 2, police say. At 10:19 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle pulling in and out of driveways on Slough Road. Police say they checked the area but did not locate the vehicle. At 11:20 p.m., an officer noticed the lights were flashing on one of the backhoes parked at the construction site in the center of town. There was nothing else suspicious at the scene, police report. Police notified the construction company.
Saturday, March 31
At 5:34 p.m., police investigated a suspicious vehicle parked on Pond Road. The vehicle belonged to a rowing coach, police say. At 8:11 p.m., police received a report of a Harvard woman gone missing. The State Police helped Harvard Police search the area around the woman’s home using dogs and then a helicopter with thermal imaging equipment. The woman was located inside her home, police say, and was taken to a hospital for medical attention.
Sunday, April 1
At 1:36 a.m., Harvard Police helped Ayer Police remove an intoxicated man from the Wendy’s in Ayer. At 11:14 a.m., a Still River Road resident told police a Mitt Romney election sign had been stolen from his front yard. Police say they have no suspects in the case.
Monday, April 2
At 8:30 a.m., a resident of Stow Road told police her daughter had almost been hit by a speeding driver at a bus stop. Police say they were able to locate the driver and told the driver to slow down.
