At 1:57 p.m., a resident of Old Littleton Road asked to speak to an officer about an incident that had occurred a week before. Suspicious people had come to the door inquiring about painting work, the woman told police. According to police, the woman said she had a big dog and it might have deterred any potential thieves. At 4:19 p.m., a resident of South Shaker Road reported a neighbor was burning brush without a permit. Police notified the fire department. At 7:52 p.m., someone reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the Holy Hill conservation area. Police say the vehicle was gone when they arrived.
Wednesday, April 4
At 9:04 a.m., police investigated the erratic operation of a vehicle near the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Stow Road. No such vehicle was found, police report. At 1:15 p.m., a Harvard resident asked to speak to an officer about a case of credit card fraud.
Thursday, April 5
At 2:35 a.m., police investigated a report of vandalism around the intersection of Still River Road and Massachusetts Avenue. According to police, the vandal or vandals had pulled picnic benches into the intersection and into the crosswalk in front of Hildreth Elementary School. The vandals had also moved orange construction cones to block Pond Road and Littleton Road and pulled large amounts of brush into Old Littleton Road, police say. Police request that anyone with information on the incident contact them. At 8:41 a.m., police encountered a car parked in Ayer Road blocking traffic. The driver was discovered a little while later returning to the car, police say. According to police, the driver had run out of gas and left his car while he hitched a ride to a gas station.
Friday, April 6
At 11:24 a.m., the owner of a property on Ayer Road told police her tenant had reported seeing a man in street clothes running through the property at a high rate of speed the day before. The man ran faster when he spotted the tenant, the property owner told police the tenant told her. Police told the property owner to report it if anyone sees the running man again. At 7:05 p.m., Ayer Police reported a car parked at the golf course on Shaker Road. Harvard Police checked the car and report it belonged to a security company. The golf course is closed and facing foreclosure. At 8:24 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance at a home on Littleton County Road. It was a verbal-only domestic incident, police say. Police say the peace was restored and no charges or restraining orders were issued.
Saturday, April 7
At 8:40 a.m., police investigated vandalism at the Depot Road underpass under Route 2. Someone had spray-painted derogatory racial terms on the bridge, police say. The graffiti also mentioned the name of a teacher in the Harvard School District, according to police. The state highway department removed the graffiti and the incident is under investigation, police say.
Sunday, April 8
At 1:52 a.m., a police officer reported discovering a vehicle accident on Littleton Road with no one around. According to police, a westbound car had gone off the left side of the road and had run into a tree. Police say they discovered the driver walking farther up the road. Police arrested Heidi Edwards, 48, of 332 Stow Road, Harvard, for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent driving to endanger, leaving the scene of property damage, and marked lanes violation. According to police, Edwards told them she had swerved to avoid an oncoming car in her lane. Evidence of a second car could not be found, police say. Edwards was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center after she complained of pain in her left eye during processing at the police station, police say. Edwards was released on bail, police say. At 8:31 a.m., a resident of Bolton Road complained to police of an ongoing problem with a neighbor’s two dogs being a nuisance. When the dogs’ owner came to get them, the caller told police, he loaded them into the trunk of his vehicle. Police referred the complaint to the animal control officer. At 7:47 p.m., police checked out a building at the observatory on Pinnacle Road because its lights were on and the door was open. Police say a worker from the oil company was there.
Monday, April 9
At 11:15 a.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident at the ramp off Route 2 onto Ayer Road. According to police, a car stopped at the stop sign and the car behind rear-ended it. Police issued the driver in back a warning for following too closely. At 2:08 p.m., on Route 2 westbound, at the bottom of the ramp off Ayer Road, police arrested Joseph Cyr, 29, of 32 Crestwood Drive, Northborough, for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license. The arresting officer had pulled Cyr over for driving a vehicle with a lapsed inspection sticker, but that suspicion turned out to be incorrect, police say. He did not, however, have a license, police say. At 8:44 p.m., police received a report of illegal trash dumping at an address on Ayer Road. Police say an officer found a name on some cardboard that was in the trash pile and will be speaking to that person.
