At 3:44 p.m., police responded to a report of a woman walking on Ayer Road near the Route 2 intersection. The caller said it seemed out of place for someone to be walking that early in the morning, police report. Police spoke to the woman and she told them she had gotten out of a car after a disagreement with the driver. Police gave the woman a ride to a hotel in Boxborough. At 8:12 a.m., police put orange traffic cones back in place that someone had moved at the intersection of Warren Avenue and Tahanto Trail. At 9:12 p.m., a resident of Poor Farm Road told police someone had parked a pickup truck in a way that blocked part of the road. Police spoke to the driver of the truck who said he was unloading bark mulch at night because it was safer than doing it during the day when the road was busy. Police say they encouraged the man to complete his work quickly.
Wednesday, April 18
At 9:56 a.m., a resident of East Bare Hill Road told police someone had tried to scam her over the phone. The woman said the caller claimed he was a relative, but she knew he wasn’t and hung up, police say. At 11:05 a.m., police received a report of several donkeys loose on Bolton Road. Police say they contacted the donkeys’ owner, who rounded them up. At 10:47 p.m., police checked out a suspicious motor vehicle parked at an Ayer Road address. No other information is available on the incident.
Thursday, April 19
At 3:19 p.m., police responded with Harvard Ambulance Service to an Ayer Road address for the report of the death of a man there. The elderly man was declared dead at the scene of natural causes, police say, and a funeral home was contacted. At 4:30 p.m., police served a summons at a Still River Road address.
Friday, April 20
At 10:27 p.m., police responded to a report of a suspicious motor vehicle parked at an Ayer Road address. Everything checked out, police report.
Saturday, April 21: At 6:20 a.m., the animal control officer responded to the intersection of Ayer and Lancaster County roads to remove a dead animal. At 8 a.m., police investigated a report of a car broken into at a home on Old Littleton Road. According to police, the car had been left unlocked and was parked at the end of a long driveway. Several items, including a wallet and an iPod, were missing, police say. At 10:35 a.m., police responded to a report of a car broken into at a home on Park Lane. That car had also been left unlocked, police say. According to police, the center console had been opened and gone through, but nothing was missing. Both cases of breaking and entering are under investigation, police say. At 8:29 p.m., someone turned in to the police station a set of keys found near the intersection of Still River and West Bare Hill roads.
Sunday, April 22
At 11:43 a.m., police investigated a report of a car broken into at a home on Hynes Lane. The car had been left unlocked overnight, police say. According to police, it appeared someone had gone through the glove box and the center console, but nothing was missing. At 6:44 p.m., the fire officer revoked the burning permit of a St. John Lane resident because of the size of the fire and the material being burnt, police say.
Monday, April 23
At 3:24 a.m., police spoke to some teenagers who were walking on Pinnacle Road near the intersection with Oak Hill Road and gave the teens a ride home. At 11:25 a.m., police served a summons at a Still River Road address.
