At 2:32 a.m., police arrested David Faulkner, 60, of Nashua, N.H., for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle as to endanger, and failure to stop at a stop sign. According to police, Faulkner failed to stop coming off the ramp from Route 2 onto Ayer Road northbound. Faulkner’s vehicle almost swiped the right side of the arresting officer’s car, nearly driving the officer off the road, police say. Faulkner then stopped abruptly in the middle of the road, police say. According to the police report, upon interviewing Faulkner, the arresting officer detected the odor of alcohol and noticed his bloodshot eyes. After he was arrested, Faulkner’s vehicle was towed away.
Tuesday, November 1
Several times on Tuesday and throughout the week, police responded to burglar alarms going off at homes in Harvard. According to police, when power is disrupted, it often sets home alarms off. None of the alarm incidents resulted in reports of home invasion. At 8:24 a.m., Pella Windows and Doors of Haverhill called police to report a company truck had hit a tree limb that was hanging on telephone wires over Still River Road, bringing the wires closer to the ground. The truck was not damaged.
Wednesday, Noember. 2
At 5:34 a.m., a caller reported seeing three teenagers emerge from the woods and approach Dunkin’ Donuts on Ayer Road as the manager was opening it up for the day. The three teenagers then hung out in front of the Dunkin’ Donuts smoking, the caller told police. According to police, the three were employees of Dunkin’ Donuts and were going in to work.
Thursday, November 3
At 5:20 a.m., a resident of Old Littleton Road told police a U-haul truck had driven by his house and turned around and drove by again before parking in front of a neighbor’s house. Upon further investigation, police report that the truck was delivering a generator to the neighbor’s house and was expected. At 4:50 p.m., Boxborough Police told Harvard Police that an erratic driver was headed into Harvard on Route 111. Havard Police searched the area but did not find the erratic driver.
Friday, November 4
At 8:08 p.m., someone came by the Harvard Police Station and dropped off a Bank of America debit card that had been discovered left in the ATM at the Rollstone Bank on Ayer Road. Police contacted the owner of the card, who came to retrieve it.
Saturday, November 5
At 2:39 a.m., police investigated an occupied vehicle parked in front of the General Store on Still River Road. The car contained three youths and several empty egg cartons, police report. Police contacted the youths’ parents, who came to pick up two of them, police say. At 6:30 p.m., police responded to a car accident near the intersection of Stow Road and Murray Lane. According to police, a car ran into a utility pole, causing wires to come down and the car’s airbags to deploy. The driver was taken by ambulance to Emerson Hospital and the car was towed away. Police did not issue the driver a citation.
Sunday, November. 6
At 1:22 a.m., police investigated a burglar alarm going off at Fruitlands Museum on Prospect Hill Road. One of the buildings there had an open door in the back, police report. Police checked and found that everything was secure. At 9:03 a.m., a resident of Littleton Road called police to report that on Tuesday, Nov. 1, around 7:30 p.m., a man tried to open her sliding glass door but was unsuccessful. When she looked out, the resident told police, she saw nothing but fresh shoe prints in the backyard. According to police, the resident believed the man was in the neighborhood attempting to steal generators. Police say the woman waited until Sunday to call them because she thought they would be too busy dealing with the power outages caused by the recent snowstorm. Police say they have not received any further reports of similar suspicious activity in that area.
Monday, November 7
At 2:53 a.m., a police officer told a driver parked at the overlook on Prospect Hill Road to move along. At 6:08 p.m., a caller reported a vehicle parked near the cell tower on Old Shirley Road with its lights on. The vehicle belonged to a work crew, police report.
