At 12:34 a.m., Harvard Police assisted Ayer Police with a domestic incident on Harvard Road in Ayer. At 9:32 p.m., someone reported finding a set of keys at the Harvard General Store on Still River Road.
Wednesday, November 9
At 10:07 a.m., the Harvard Cemetery Commission reported that the sign it had posted at the Harvard Town Common had gone missing. No other signs from that area were reported missing, police say. The missing sign has not been located, according to police.
Thursday, November 10
At 8:28 a.m., police investigated an unoccupied vehicle that had been parked on Bolton Road for two days. Police speculate it might belong to a deer hunter. At 11:42 a.m., a caller reported a loose horse on Depot Road. Police contacted the owner of the horse, who collected it and returned it to its stable. At 12:17 p.m., a man stopped by the police station to report someone had stolen two chain saws from the parking lot of the Holy Hill conservation area. The thief overlooked a tank of gas and a backpack, the man told police. According to police, the man decided not to pursue the case further because he believed he would receive more in insurance payments than the chain saws were worth.
Friday, November 11
At 10:50 a.m., police responded to a report of an open door at the Department of Public Works on Depot Road. Everything checked out, police report. At 5 p.m., a man called police to report that his wife had called him to report a white Volvo with a possibly drunk driver near the Boxborough town line on Massachusetts Avenue. The woman tried to write down the car’s license plate number, but when they checked it out, police say, it did not match any plate in Massachusetts. Police did not find any car matching that description in the area. At 5:10 p.m., a Woodside Road resident came to the police station to report coming home to find a house door open and the attic door open. Police checked the home and did not find anything out of order. At 5:34 p.m., a resident of Littleton Road reported a door open to the home’s garage. Police checked and cleared the home.
Saturday, November 12
At 12:03 a.m., a resident of West Bare Hill Road told police his doorbell had rung and he checked around the house but no one was there. Police checked the area and didn’t find anyone. At 10:18 a.m., police responded to Stow Road for a report of an erratic driver. The driver was an elderly man wearing a black sweatshirt, the caller told police. Police did not locate anyone matching that description.
Sunday, November 13
At 2:49 a.m., an officer investigated the Moving Arts dance school after seeing movement inside. According to police, the officer spoke with an instructor who told him the studio was holding a sleepover that night. At 3:35 a.m., a resident of Littleton Road reported a silver SUV parked in her yard with no one around. When the resident went inside her house, the SUV drove off. Police report pulling the SUV over soon after. Two people were in the SUV, police say. One was charged for operating without a license; it was a junior operator who is restricted from carrying passengers, police say.
Monday, November 14
At 9:09 a.m., police arrested a 17-year-old Ayer man for breaking and entering into a motor vehicle and larceny of a cellphone in the parking lot of Dunkin’ Donuts on Ayer Road. According to police, the man was an employee of Dunkin’ Donuts and was caught on a security camera stealing the phone out of a customer’s car. The store immediately fired the man, police say.
