At 2:01 a.m., Boxborough Police requested that Harvard Police check the Harvard end of Sherry Road for vandalism to mailboxes. Boxborough Police said mailboxes were vandalized on their side of the town line. Harvard Police checked the area and reported finding no mailbox vandalism. At 2:22 p.m., a resident of Myrick Lane reported a gas grill was stolen from his deck. Police are still investigating the incident. At 4:26 p.m., police received a report of a suspicious motor vehicle. The resident of a home on Woodchuck Hill Road told police a Jaguar was parked at the end of the home’s driveway. The Jaguar was gone on their arrival, police report.
Wednesday, October 19
At 10:25 a.m., police responded to a report of trash dumping at the Holy Hill Conservation area on South Shaker Road. According to police, a caller reported seeing a double cab truck park there and deposit trash bags. Police say the bags were filled with molding, but no identifying material. Police asked the Department of Public Works to come and remove the trash. At 10:26 a.m., police responded to a domestic incident at a home on Poor Farm Road. The incident was a verbal argument, and one of the participants had left by the time officers arrived, police say.
Thursday, October 20
At 9:48 p.m., police investigated a report of a hit-and-run accident on Depot Road. A resident of a home there told police someone had backed into a car parked in the driveway and driven off. Police are still investigating the incident. At 11:28 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Old Shirley Road. A car had run into a tree. The vehicle was operable and didn’t need to be towed, police say. At 6:58 p.m., a resident of Myrick Lane reported someone had opened the front door of the resident’s home. Police investigated and reported the door was probably blown open by the wind and there was no break in.
Friday, October 21
At 11:58 a.m., police investigated a report of a suspicious person on Oak Hill Road. The person was just taking pictures of the fall foliage, police say. At 6:26 p.m., police investigated suspicious activity near the railroad tracks on Still River Depot Road. According to police a group was smoking marijuana. Police confiscated the marijuana, which was under an ounce, and sent the group on its way.
Saturday, October 22
At 10:31 a.m., police got a report of a motor vehicle accident on Massachusetts Avenue. The cars involved in the accident were gone on arrival, police say. At 1:26 p.m., a caller told police there was a loose pony walking in the road near the intersection of Littleton and Whitney roads. Police checked the area but didn’t find the pony. At 5:50 p.m., a resident of Myrick Lane told police there was an unfamiliar car in the resident’s driveway with the windows smashed out. Upon investigation, police discovered that the car had been involved in an accident in New Hampshire and the towing company towed it to the wrong address.
Sunday, October 23
At 3:11 p.m., Westward Orchards on Massachusetts Avenue reported shoplifting and items missing from the store. Police are still investigating the incident.
Monday, October 24
At 9:47 p.m., a caller reported littering from a delivery truck on the side of Ayer Road. Police said they would speak to the driver of the truck.
