At 12:07 p.m., police responded to a residential burglar alarm going off at a home on Slough Road. The homeowner’s daughter had set it off by accident, police report.
Wednesday, September 28
At 4:36 p.m., a caller asked to speak to a police officer about receiving harassing text messages. A police officer spoke to the caller and to the person sending the messages and no charges were filed.
Thursday, September 29
At 5:54 a.m., the State Police responded to an accident on the eastbound side of Route 2. The accident involved three motor vehicles and a tractor-trailer, police say. The Harvard Ambulance Service responded and received two refusals for hospital transport. A Littleton ambulance took one person to the hospital. At 9:54 a.m., a Murray Lane resident reported hearing voices in a nearby field. Police investigated and found nothing.
Friday, September 30
At 7:46 a.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Ayer Road. According to police, a car stopped in traffic and a motorcyclist behind it failed to stop in time. The motorcyclist was issued a citation for failing to use care in stopping. An ambulance responded and received one refusal to be transported to the hospital. At 4:47 p.m., a resident of Shaker Road reported a car driving up and down the road with flashing orange lights. A police officer checked the area but found nothing. At 5:10 p.m., a resident of Massachusetts Avenue told police a dump truck or a large truck had used the home’s driveway to turn around and, as a result, left ruts. Police searched the area and couldn’t find the truck, but the homeowner had taken down the truck’s license plate number. Police called the company that owns the truck and said it could be charged with leaving the scene of property damage. The company agreed to repair the driveway and no charges were filed, police say. Police will follow up to make sure the repairs are done. At 8:07 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious looking vehicle parked at the fire pond near the intersection of Ayer and Lancaster County roads. An officer checked the area and found that the vehicle’s owner was trapping shiners for bait, police say.
Saturday, October 1
At 9:44 a.m., police spoke to a group of four people who were roller skating down Old Littleton Road. Police asked the group to skate single file so as not to block the road. The skaters agreed, police say.
Sunday, October 2
At 2:04 p.m., a resident of Ayer Road reported a suspicious looking vehicle pulling into his or her driveway. Police responded but the vehicle was gone on arrival, police say. At 8:10 p.m., a resident of Ayer Road reported a possible break-in. Police investigated but report finding no damage or evidence of a forced entry.
Monday, October 3
At 1:33 p.m., police investigated a break-in at the Bromfield School. According to police, someone had unlawfully entered the school and used a screwdriver to open a storage closet there. The person made off with $70 worth of vending machine snacks and a $300 cart, police say. According to police, a Bromfield teacher reported that a green anole lizard named Peter was also missing. Peter’s tank was not taken, police say. Police are investigating the break-in and have not charged anyone yet or recovered the lizard or the missing items. At 7 p.m., a caller reported a suspicious looking vehicle near the intersection of Stow Road and Murray Lane. An officer spoke to the owner of the vehicle who was a worker mowing the grass at a conservation area there. The worker said he would put a sign on his truck for the next time.
