At 8:04 a.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Stow Road near Eldridge Road. A car ran into a utility pole there, breaking the pole in half. The car was towed and the driver was taken to the hospital. According to police, the pole had to be replaced. The driver was issued a written warning for marked lanes violation. At 3:23 p.m., a caller reported having witnessed someone take items from a farm stand on Still River Road without paying for them. Police spoke to the owner of the farm stand, who, upon counting the money in his safe, said everything was accounted for and paid for.

Thursday, September 22
At noon, police responded to a car accident on Under Pin Hill Road. According to police, a small animal had run into the road and the driver, who was heading north, swerved to the right to avoid it. The car went off the road, first hitting a granite outcropping with its front wheels and then travelling 40 more feet before coming to rest against a tree. The driver did not suffer any injuries and was not issued a citation. The car had to be towed away. At 2:44 p.m., police investigated a motor vehicle accident on Old Littleton Road in which a car hit a utility pole. According to police, there were no injuries and the car had to be towed away. The driver was cited for marked lanes violation and not carrying a license while driving.
Friday, September 23
At 2:16 a.m., police responded to burglar alarms going off at Fruitlands Museum on Prospect Hill Road. Police checked the building, confirmed it was secure, and left a message with the caretaker. At 4:23 p.m., a 911 caller reported being in a car that had been rear-ended by another vehicle near the intersection of Poor Farm and Ayer roads. There were no injuries and no fluids leaking, police say. Because an airbag had deployed, an ambulance responded to the scene and took two people to the hospital. Two others who were in the accident refused transportation to the hospital.
Saturday, Sept. 24
At 8:57 a.m., a builder working on a construction project on Prospect Hill Road told police tools had been stolen from the work site. The builder estimated the loss at $1,500, police say. Police are still itemizing the missing tools and the matter is under investigation, police say. At 12:51 p.m., police investigated a burglar alarm that went off at the Hildreth Elementary School on Massachusetts Avenue. A door near the playground was unlocked, police report. Police checked the building and report finding no one who didn’t belong there. At 6:23 p.m., police stopped by a home on Shaker Road because the door was open and there were many vehicles in the driveway. The homeowner’s grandson was there and nothing was wrong, police report. At 9:23 p.m., a caller told police a child’s hat had been taken from him during a school function at the Bromfield School and not returned. According to the caller, police say, somebody on the school bus grabbed the hat from the child’s head. An officer is working to resolve the situation and return the hat to its owner, police say. At 11:16 p.m., police investigated suspicious activity at the overlook on Prospect Hill Road and issued civil citations to three people for marijuana violations.
Sunday, September 25
At 1:10 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Littleton and Pinnacle roads. One car had rear-ended another, police say. There were no injuries reported and the damage was under $1,000. At 4:14 p.m., a caller reported that someone had vandalized his wife’s car over the weekend. Someone wrote a vulgarity on the side of the car with a key or another metal object, police say. The car was parked at a business on Ayer Road. The caller did not know who might have committed the vandalism, police say. At 6:14 p.m., as the result of a motor vehicle stop on Ayer Road for a traffic violation, police issued a summons to a driver from Pepperell for operating an uninsured vehicle with a suspended registration.
