Bromfield Rowing competed nationally for the first time during Memorial Day weekend at the Scholastic Nationals in Saratoga, N.Y., and qualified for another team first—the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships.
The girls varsity double (freshmen Caroline Hart and Olivia MacLean) came in second, winning a silver medal in the junior double category. The team competed against other freshmen, sophomores, and juniors representing high schools from states along the East Coast.
The boys varsity four (Mike Child, Kendall Cotton, Sam Ginouves, Scott Blackwell and cox Diana Fox) came in sixth out of 32.
Both boats will be heading to the U.S. Rowing Youth Nationals in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 10, where the Bromfield rowers will be competing against both high school and club teams from throughout the United States.
