An Elm Street resident called at 1:02 p.m. to report that some property had been stolen, but later discovered that it had been borrowed by someone. At 7 p.m. police responded to the scene of a single-car accident on West Bare Hill Road at Warren Ave. that occurred when a car slid off the road into a ditch. Police called for a tow truck to winch the car out. No tow was required; there were no injuries or citations.
Wednesday, January 6
At 3:44 p.m. someone stopped at the station seeking information about a license to carry firearms. Police provided mutual aid to Boxborough at 5:53 p.m., when they shut down part of the bridge on Route 111 into Boxborough to divert traffic away from the scene of a car fire on Interstate 495.
Thursday, January 7
At 1:28 a.m. a caller reported that he had just hit a deer with his car. There was minor damage to the car; the deer ran off. At 1:44 p.m. a caller reported a suspicious-looking vehicle parked on Mass. Ave. Police found it was a man taking a break before his next appointment. Someone stopped at the station at 6:25 p.m. to report a workplace incident regarding the receipt of inappropriate e-mails from a coworker. The coworker had been dismissed by the employer and the person who stopped at the station wanted police to make note of the incident in case there were repercussions. At 9:15 p.m. a caller reported seeing a car swerving repeatedly in the vicinity of Prospect Hill and Still River roads. Police did not locate the vehicle. A Blanchard Road resident stopped at the station at 11:32 p.m. to request an escort to her home, since she was suspicious of an older model car she had seen parked in the area.
Friday, January 8
At 12:59 p.m. someone at Bromfield called to report that a red van had been parked at the back of the parking lot for a period of time and had then left. The caller provided a plate number and police identified the driver, but determined that the driver was a tradesman who was just taking a break in the parking lot. At 2:14 p.m. Harvard police assisted Boxborough police with an arrest in Boxborough. At 4:59 p.m. a caller reported seeing a car being driven erratically on Fairbank Street, headed toward Boxborough, and provided police with a plate number. Police did not locate the vehicle, but alerted Boxborough police to watch for the car. A Depot Road resident called at 8:31 p.m. to report concerns about an escalating verbal disagreement between two people at the residence. Police spoke to both parties.
Saturday, January 9
At 10:21 a.m. police were called to a Slough Road residence, where they intervened in another verbal disagreement between two people. The ambulance responded to the scene of a minor car accident on Route 2 westbound, after the car’s airbags deployed. The driver refused transportation to the hospital.
Sunday, January 10
Police and ambulance personnel responded to the scene of a single-car accident on Willard Lane at Cove Drive at 2:06 a.m. The driver was taken to Emerson Hospital; the car was towed. No citations were issued. At 3:21 a.m. firefighters assisted the Stow Fire Department with a structure fire in Stow. A West Bare Hill Road resident called at 10:36 a.m. to complain about snowmobilers on his property. The officer on duty offered some suggestions, including calling the local snowmobile club to make sure its members were aware of where they shouldn’t be traveling. At noon the ambulance transported a man from an Ayer Road residence to Emerson Hospital. Firefighters were deployed to a Slough Road address after receiving a carbon monoxide alarm, but determined it was a false alarm. The ambulance transported a man to Emerson Hospital from a Whitney Road address at 6:04 p.m.
Monday, January 11
Someone stopped at the station at 9:50 a.m. to talk to police about a financial dispute, but was advised it was a civil matter.
