A woman was taken by ambulance from a St. John Lane residence to Emerson Hospital at 3:21 p.m.
Thursday, January 14
A structure fire was reported at an Old Mill Road residence at 12:06 a.m. (See story, page 1.) At 12:11 p.m. police and ambulance personnel responded to the scene of a two-car accident on Ayer Road. Both cars were towed; one man was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. One driver was given a written warning for failure to yield upon entering the road from a private way. A car was reported off the road on Prospect Hill Road at 4:47 p.m. The responding officer found that the driver was waiting for help from a friend, and after determining the car did not pose a hazard where it was, concluded that no further action was necessary. At 5:47 p.m. a driver reported fatally striking a deer with his car at Mass. Ave and Slough Road. A passerby claimed the carcass. An Ayer Road resident reported that someone had come into his apartment building earlier in the day, claiming to be from Comcast and asking to see some equipment in the building. The person refused to admit him. A woman was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from an Ayer Road address at 8:21 p.m.
Friday, January 15
Police received a call at 5:01 a.m. reporting a car vs. deer collision at Bolton and East Bare Hill roads. No tow was required for the car. Someone claimed the deer carcass. The ambulance transported a woman to Emerson Hospital from an Ayer Road residence at 9:36 a.m. A woman stopped at the station at 2:40 p.m. seeking information about the status of her ex-husband’s driver’s license. Police informed her that was confidential information. At 3:21 p.m. a caller reported that his car was being tailgated on West Bare Hill Road. The car was not in the area when police arrived to investigate. A woman stopped at the station at 3:58 p.m. to report a possible stalking incident. Police determined it was not a case of stalking, but put a record of the incident in their files. A caller reported seeing a car off the road at Mass. Ave. and Littleton County Road at 6:14 p.m. The car was gone when police arrived. An Ann Lees Road resident called at 10:50 p.m. to complain about a neighbor’s dog barking. Police left a message with the animal control officer. At 11:52 p.m. police asked some youths who were snowboarding at the high school to move along.
Saturday, January 16
A man was taken to Emerson Hospital from an Ayer Road address at 8:40 a.m. The ambulance transported a woman to Leominster Hospital from a Littleton Road residence at 6:24 p.m. Police investigated a 911 hang-up call that came in at 7:19 p.m., and restored the peace in a verbal disagreement between two brothers.
Sunday, January 17
Someone from a nearby town stopped at the station at 2:44 p.m. to complain about the number of political signs in Harvard.
Monday, January 18
Monday’s snow storm precipitated several incidents of power outages and downed wires. Townwide power outages were reported at 3:12 a.m. At 3:32 a.m. a wire was reported down on Tahanto Trail. At 3:41 a.m. a utility line was reported on fire on Ayer Road. Firefighters extinguished the fire. Trees on wires were reported on Woodside Road at 5:18 a.m.; a line was reported down on Stow Road at 7:30 a.m. The ambulance took a woman to Emerson Hospital from a Glenview Drive address at 2:07 p.m. Youths at the high school who were using soccer nets to assist in snowboarding were asked to move along at 4:02 p.m. A car was reported off the road at Stow and Westcott roads at 6:38 p.m. Police called for a tow truck and stood by while the truck winched out the car.
