Harvard residents Evan Cochrane, Tyler Papazian, and Justin Warren, all 17, have been ordered to make restitution for the damage they caused during a vandalism spree that took place during several weeks last summer in Harvard and Bolton. Detective Jack Izzo told the Press this week that the judgment came at a hearing held in Clinton District Court on Nov. 23.
The three youths were accused of damaging several town fields in Harvard, as well as lawns in Bolton, by “doing donuts” on them with cars. As reported by the Press on Oct. 23, each of the three faced a total of 15 charges—three charges each in five separate incidents: defacing or vandalizing property, conspiracy to commit a crime, and use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a crime.
According to Izzo, the hearing was continued without a finding for six months.
The outcome was the same with the Bolton charges, Bolton Police Chief Vincent Alfano told the Press this week. Alfano said that the Bolton homeowners whose property was damaged have been asked to submit cost estimates to the court, which will set a repayment schedule for the youths.
As long as the three stay out of trouble for six months and make full restitution for the damage they caused, Alfano said, the cases will be closed.
