Candidates debate scheduled
The League of Women Voters of Harvard and the Harvard Press will co-sponsor a candidates debate Thursday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. in Volunteers Hall at the public library. In advance of the Dec. 8 election, Board of Selectmen candidates Bill Johnson and Marie Sobalvarro will debate questions sent in by mail and e-mail, as well as questions from the audience. The debate will be recorded by the Cable Committee for later broadcast.

Police announce hours for trick-or-treat
Harvard police have announced that the hours for Halloween trick-or-treating will be 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31. They advise that children should not be left unsupervised to trick-or-treat and should carry flashlights as they haunt Harvard houses.
