Tuesday, February 24: At 2:55 p.m. a Poor Farm Road resident called to report that her pellet stove was smoldering. A firefighter investigated but found no sign of a fire other than the one burning inside the stove.
Wednesday, February 25: At 12:11 a.m. Harvard police assisted Bolton police at the scene of a car accident on Still River Road. At 11:43 a.m. a person was taken by ambulance to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a Still River Road address.
Thursday, February 26: A caller at Dunkin’ Donuts reported at 6:18 a.m. that a man standing next to a yellow truck in the parking lot was signaling cars to stop. The truck was gone when police arrived to investigate.
Friday, February 27: At 12:06 a.m. a caller reported seeing a flashing yellow light on the second floor of the elementary school. Police investigated, but did not see the light and found no cause for such a phenomenon. The responding officer left a message for the school facilities director. At 6:58 a.m. an officer on patrol noticed a dead sheep on the front lawn of a Madigan Lane farm and stopped to inform the farmer that his flock had been reduced by one. Police notified Charter Communications at 9:35 a.m. that a communications wire was down on Still River Road. Ten minutes later an officer notified the Department of Public Works that a limb hanging low over Bolton Road was about to fall. At 4:52 p.m. police responded to an accident on West Bare Hill Road that occurred when a woman driving a van lost control of the vehicle after swerving to avoid a deer. The vehicle went off the road, hit a tree, and rolled over. The woman said she was not injured, but accepted an ambulance ride to Emerson Hospital as a precaution. The van was heavily damaged and towed from the scene. The deer was nowhere to be found. At 6:17 p.m. an officer on patrol removed a tree branch from the middle of Ayer Road. At 10:30 p.m. police notified National Grid about power outages reported on Sherry Road.
Saturday, February 28: A woman was taken by ambulance from a Bolton Road address to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 12:37 p.m. At 5:23 p.m. a woman and her daughter stopped at the station to report that the daughter had been threatened by her boyfriend. At 6:14 p.m. a caller reported that his car had struck a deer on Ayer Road. Police asked the animal control officer to retrieve the carcass.
Sunday, March 1: A man stopped at the station at 12:07 p.m. to report that his car had slid off the road and hit a tree on Old Shirley Road. He was not injured and reported that his car had sustained only minor damage. A caller reported at 12:58 p.m. that a vehicle had backed into his wife’s car while it was parked at Green Eyrie Girl Scout Camp, and said that he would work out the issue with the other party. A woman was taken by ambulance to Emerson Hospital from a Littleton Road address at 2:02 p.m. At 4:59 p.m. a woman on West Bare Hill Road requested that an officer stand by while she attempted to secure a window at a neighboring residence while the owners were away. The officer reported that the woman was unable to secure the window because it was gone.
Monday, March 2: At 10:08 a.m. police called a tow truck to help a car out of a snowbank at Oak Hill and Littleton County roads. An Ayer Road resident who was caught at 11:44 a.m. snowblowing snow into the roadway apologized and said she wouldn’t do it again. A Bolton Road resident called at 1:20 p.m. to report damage to a mailbox caused by either vandals or a snowplow. An officer on patrol found a car parked behind a building on Ayer Road at 11:13 p.m. and asked the driver to move on.
