Tuesday, January 8: At 8:58 a.m. a woman was taken to Nashoba Valley Medical Center from a South Shaker Road residence. Boxborough police asked Harvard police at 9:01 a.m. to assist in apprehending two men involved in a home invasion in Boxborough. Boxborough police captured the men and took them into custody. After a car was reported stuck on the ice near McCurdy Track, the Department of Public Works was called out to sand the area.
Wednesday, January 9: A caller reported suspicious activity in the area of Westcott and East Bare Hill roads at 4:44 p.m. Police responded and determined that the suspicious-looking person was a National Grid technician doing pole checks. More suspicious activity was reported at 5:36 p.m. when someone rang the doorbell at a Brown Road address and ran off. Police found no one in the area.
Thursday, January 10: A resident who stopped in at the station at 3:37 p.m. to report receiving harassing phone calls was advised to contact his phone service provider. Police determined that suspicious activity in the area of Mettacomet Path and East Bare Hill Road, reported by a caller at 9:22 p.m., was a car picking up a resident.
Friday, January 11 : A caller on Scott Road reported at 6:22 a.m. hearing a loud explosion, which was followed by a power outage. Police did not find anything unusual in the area and notified National Grid to look into the matter. A couple stopped in at the station at 7:52 a.m. seeking advice about their teenage son. A caller reported suspicious activity at 7:02 p.m., in the form of a car pulling out of the area near the Fire Department water hole. Police did not locate the vehicle and found no damage in the area. At 11:47 p.m. police received a call about a car going off the road on Brown Road. There was no damage to the car; a tow truck was called to winch the vehicle back onto the road.
Saturday, January 12: At 9:45 p.m. a woman was taken from a South Shaker Road address to Nashoba Valley Medical Center. A resident stopped in at the station at 10:31 p.m. to ask for information on tracking suspicious phone calls and was advised to contact the phone service provider.
Sunday, January 13: Harvard ambulance transported a man to Nashoba Valley Medical Center at 4:50 a.m. At 10:48 a.m. a caller on Abbot Lane reported a vandalized mailbox and the disappearance of the Abbot Lane road sign.
Monday, January 14: At 6:43 a.m. a 2000 Lexus driven by a Harvard man went off the road at a tight corner on Oak Hill Road. There were no injuries and no citations were issued. The car was towed. A caller involved in a minor accident at Ayer and South Shaker roads, resulting in only minor damage, notified police of the accident at 7:42 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. the DPW notified the station that one of its trucks had gone off into a snowbank on Willow Road, and would be removed after the storm subsided. A man at an East Bare Hill Road address was taken to Emerson Hospital for observation at 10:19 a.m. A serious accident on Ayer Road was reported to police at 3:13 p.m. At least one person was transported to the hospital, and a vehicle towed. No other details were available at press time. A Blanchard Road resident called the station at 6:01 p.m. to report having an accident at 5:42 p.m. She said her car slid off the road and into a stone wall, due to poor conditions resulting from the snowstorm. She said there was only minor damage to the car, and she was not injured. A woman walking on Park Lane was struck by a vehicle at 6:55 p.m., and was taken to Emerson Hospital. No further details were available at press time.
