Hear science-based information on the benefits of medicinal cannabis, and what type of cannabis is good for helping with sleep or anxiety.
Cooking With Saschi. On Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m., Saschi will demonstrate how to cook chana dal fry, a comforting Indian dish high in protein and fiber. The dal will be served alongside rice and homemade naan. Suitable for those with celiac disease.
Con Vino Guitars. Enjoy lunch Thursday, Jan. 15, at noon while listening to Con Vino Guitars. This Massachusetts-based classical ensemble performs music from the Renaissance to today, selected to enhance your dining experience.
Visit the newly-renovated Oak & Orchard in Bolton for lunch Friday, Jan. 16, at 11:15 a.m. The venue offers guests American fare with a focus on comfort and quality, in relaxed surroundings all designed with locally crafted oak furniture.
Understanding utility bills and avoiding scams. On Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m., the Attorney General’s office and the MCC Law Center will discuss the charges that make up a utility bill and provide an overview of alternate electric suppliers. Learn what utility and energy scams are out there, and ways to protect your identity.
Have fun at Trombetta’s Farm in Marlborough Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 10 a.m., with a morning of minigolf and ice cream. The shop is heated for winter comfort, and the course is surrounded by beautiful shrubs, plants and flowers. Cost is $8 paid at Trombetta’s plus the cost of ice cream.

Tour the Haartz Corporation factory in Acton Wednesday, Jan. 28, 9:30 a.m. Haartz is the world’s #1 supplier of automotive topping fabrics such as convertible tops, truck tonneau covers, and tire covers. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are required, and safety glasses will be provided on-site.
Dog licenses are free for residents aged 70 and older. Watch for 2026 license applications in the annual street listing packet from the Town Clerk’s office.
Weekly grocery shopping. The van to Market Basket in Littleton departs Fridays, 10 a.m.
Congregate meals are served Tuesdays and Thursdays at noon at the senior center. Meals on wheels can also be arranged.
Fuel assistance is available in a state program open to both homeowners and renters; income limits apply. Assistance is also available through HEAT (Harvard Energy Assistance Team). Call the COA for help in applying.
Senior center food pantry. The COA has set up a food pantry for Harvard seniors across from the front desk. This is an honor system, so take only what you need. Donations of sealed, unexpired pantry goods (such as canned food, shelf-stable milk, or pasta) may be left with the front desk attendant or an employee.
Sign up for the COA’s storm alert list. When a storm is predicted, the outreach team can call you to see if there is anything you need to be prepared.
Help with computers. Adam is available for one-on-one computer training or anything related to computers or technology. Call the COA (not Adam) for an appointment.
COA van guidelines. There is no fee for the use of the van. To schedule a ride, call the COA; 48 hours’ notice is requested, but not more than one month ahead. Wheelchair users must be accompanied by a companion.
Mart Connects is subsidized transportation to nearby towns for any adult living in Harvard. Available seven days a week, 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Schedule one day in advance by 2 p.m. by calling 1-800-922-5636, option 4; a credit or debit card is required. This service cannot accommodate wheelchairs.
