On the road with COA

- Thursday, Feb. 11: COA travelers will have a chance to hear a rehearsal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Thursday, Feb. 11, when the orchestra will be playing renditions of Berg, Strauss, and Mahler. The program will be preceded by a description of the music and its origin. After the rehearsal trip-goers will have lunch nearby. The group will leave Hildreth House at 8 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. Cost is $25 plus lunch. Also on the 11th, the COA will offer a trip to see the Concord Players’ dress rehearsal of The Man Who Came to Dinner. The van will leave Hildreth House at 7:15 p.m. for the 8 p.m. performance. Cost will be $2 for the van and $5 at the door for the play.
- Thursday, Feb. 18: The destination of this COA trip is Hanover Theater in Worcester to see the show Cirque Dreams Illumination, featuring an international cast of world-class acrobats, athletes, and musicians. Tickets are $45, payable in advance. The group will leave Hildreth House at 6:15 p.m. and return by 10 p.m.
- Tuesday, Feb. 23: This afternoon trip will take COA travelers to the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, which will feature an interactive tour with demonstrations of sewing techniques, behind-the-scenes looks at how ordinary textile items are made, and historical facts. Following the tour, the group will stop at a local restaurant for coffee or tea and dessert before heading back to Harvard. The group will leave Hildreth House at 1:15 p.m. and return by 5 p.m. Cost is $10, plus the cost of dessert.
