On the road with COA

Call the COA office at 978-456-4120 for more information or to sign up for trips. Anyone who cannot afford a trip should contact the office about a scholarship.

  • Friday, Jan. 29: This trip will take COA travelers to tour the John Joseph Moakley United States Courthouse in Boston. Following lunch at a nearby restaurant, the group will continue on to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum for a self-guided tour of the permanent and special exhibits. The trip will start from Hildreth House at 9:45 a.m. and return by 4:30 p.m. Cost is $13, plus lunch.
     
  • Thursday, Feb. 11: COA travelers will have a chance to hear a rehearsal of the Boston Symphony Orchestra Thursday, Feb. 11, when the orchestra will be playing renditions of Berg, Strauss, and Mahler. The program will be preceded by a description of the music and its origin. After the rehearsal trip-goers will have lunch nearby. The group will leave Hildreth House at 8 a.m. and return by 4 p.m. cost is $25 plus lunch.

    Also on the 11th, the COA will offer a trip to see the Concord Players’ dress rehearsal of The Man Who Came to Dinner. The van will leave Hildreth House at 7:15 p.m. for the 8 p.m. performance. Cost will be $2 for the van and $5 at the door for the play.
     

  • Thursday, Feb. 18: The destination of this COA trip is Hanover Theater in Worcester to see the show Cirque Dreams Illumination, featuring an international cast of world-class acrobats, athletes, and musicians. Tickets are $45, payable in advance. The group will leave Hildreth House at 6:15 p.m. and return by 10 p.m.
