On Saturday, Oct. 19, Holy Trinity Youth Group held a fundraising dance for the Newtown Memorial Fund. Almost 100 eighth- and ninth-graders attended the costume dance in the church’s Deacon Hall. Over $350 was raised to help those directly affected by the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. last December. The funds will help provide counseling services for family members and other expenses that will arise in the coming years as people attempt to put their lives back together. The youth group is led by Karen Culkins of West Bare Hill Road, who grew up in Newtown.
