On behalf of Bare Hill Rowing Association, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone for the fabulous support of the inaugural Harvard Henley Regatta on Bare Hill Pond last weekend.
The sun shone brightly here “across the pond” as we celebrated the legacy of rowing in Harvard. Spirits were buoyant, races were exciting, and many neighbors and friends came to cheer on the crews. Hosting this unique community regatta would have been impossible without the support we received from the town of Harvard. We thank the town administrator, Board of Selectmen, the Harvard DPW, the harbormaster, the Harvard Historical Society, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Police and Fire departments, and the Harvard Ambulance Squad for their dedicated efforts assisting with this event. In addition, we thank the General Store for their superb hospitality hosting the festive Henley reception on Saturday night. A big “shout-out” goes to the diminutive but mighty talented Brothers Rule and Indian Hill Music School for all that unforgettable jazz!
The Bare Hill Rowing Association acknowledges with gratitude the volunteers, families, residents, and generous sponsors who made the regatta happen. We applaud the vision of our program director and the work of our coaches. We truly couldn’t have done it without all of you.
The most rewarding moments of the weekend were being a part of an experience that promoted such camaraderie, fun, and excitement among the athletes. These are young people who have learned to respect, trust, and work with one another as teammates, all through the gift of racing boats. Thank you to the community for making that exceptional gift possible.
