Just want to send out a big thanks and lots of gratitude to the members of the Harvard Fire Department (David Hazel, Andrew Perry, Bill McElhaney, Scot Nogler, Shane Nogler, and the others who we did not know by name) and Harvard Police Department (Officer John Hughes and Detective Daniele Fortunato) who took time out of their Saturday night to come help us with our small, but to us very scary, chimney fire. Even though it felt like a mini class reunion with close friends we grew up with, graduated with, or in some cases the sons of people we grew up with, when they went to work, it was nothing short of pure professionalism.
Officers Hughes and Fortunato arrived first and kept us calm as we waited for the fire team to arrive. And then watching the fire team go to work setting up the ladder truck, maneuvering men onto the roof, extinguishing the fire, and making sure our home was safe from flames both inside and out was truly amazing and very comforting. We can’t begin to thank you all enough for the great job you did. And we promise, next time we decide to have you all over for an impromptu reunion on a Saturday night, the cooking will be done on a grill and not in the middle of our chimney!
