In the past week, police made 64 motor vehicle stops, 32 resulting in verbal warnings, 29 in written warnings or citations, and one in a criminal citation; one car was towed. Officers also made one well-being check and helped a person who was locked out of a vehicle.
Tuesday, Aug. 18
At 11:41 a.m. a Stow Road resident called to report their mailbox had been damaged. At 1:58 p.m. a driver on Bolton Road ran into a tree. The driver was injured and the car required a tow.
Wednesday, Aug. 19
At 2:12 p.m. on Still River Road, a 49-year-old Fitchburg man received a summons for speeding and driving with a suspended license.
Thursday, Aug. 20
At 6:02 a.m. on Ayer Road, a 34-year-old man from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, received a summons for failing to stop or yield at a sign and driving without a license. At 12:43 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called police for advice about a company offering to do work on the caller’s home; the police said the offer sounded like a scam.
Friday, Aug. 21
At 10:45 a.m. someone called with suspicions about an older man who was sitting outside an office on Ayer Road; the man had a shopping bag with him, and the caller believed there was a baby in it. Police could not locate the man but took a report of the call. At 4:08 p.m. a caller reported a collision on Route 2 westbound; state police had jurisdiction. At 9:31 p.m. police served a court arrest warrant on a Woodchuck Hill Road resident.
Saturday, Aug. 22
At 9:29 a.m. on Old Shirley Road a driver hit a tree; the vehicle was towed. At 1:08 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Interstate 495 northbound; state police had jurisdiction.
Sunday, Aug. 23
At 4:04 p.m. an East Bare Hill Road resident called, saying someone was violating a restraining order. However, police found there was no violation. At 9:38 p.m. a caller reported a collision involving two motorcycles on Interstate 495 southbound; state police had jurisdiction.
Monday, Aug. 24
At 8:36 a.m. officers transported the person who had been arrested Friday night to Clinton District Court. At 10:25 a.m. a Westcott Road resident reported their house had been “egged” while they were out of town. At 11:29 a.m. a Littleton County Road resident called 911 to report trouble with her phone.
