In the past week, police made 33 motor vehicle stops, 13 resulting in verbal warnings, 19 in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation, which carries a fine. Officers also made three well-being checks, dealt with two disabled vehicles, and responded to three false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Nov. 11
At 2:20 p.m. a caller reported a dead deer on Littleton Road, the first of several deer strikes this week. However, this one turned out to be in the town of Littleton, so police there were notified. At 5:43 p.m. someone on West Bare Hill Road called 911 with suspicions about an unfamiliar car; it belonged to a neighbor. At 10:38 p.m. someone complained about a car weaving all over Ayer Road, but the car had left the area when police arrived.
Wednesday, Nov. 12
At 9:58 a.m. an officer notified the Department of Public Works to remove a dead raccoon on Ayer Road.
Thursday, Nov. 13
At 5:34 a.m. Ayer police asked for help finding a car that had been involved in a collision there, but it was not located.
Friday, Nov. 14
At 5:58 a.m. a driver reported hitting a deer near the intersection of Still River and Prospect Hill roads; the deer ran off. At 10 a.m. an officer served a restraining order from Clinton at a house on Under Pin Hill Road. At 11:07 a.m. a 911 caller asked police to do a well-being check on a man who appeared to be sleeping in a car on Old Littleton Road; the man had reclined his seat while on his phone. At 1:21 p.m. a restraining order was served at an Ayer Road address. At 6:50 p.m. a car struck a deer near the intersection of Ayer and Poor Farm roads.
Saturday, Nov. 15
At 12:46 p.m. a 911 caller reported hitting a deer near the intersection of Littleton and Shaker roads. At 1:48 p.m. there was a minor collision in the General Store parking lot. At 4:13 p.m. a disabled FedEx truck on Old Shirley Road required a tow.
Sunday, Nov. 16
At 12:22 a.m. a Harvard officer provided backup at a collision on Wattaquadock Hill Road in Bolton in which at least one person was injured. A 28-year-old Leominster woman was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, marked lane violations, and negligent operation of a vehicle. At 1:54 a.m. a Harvard officer helped Lancaster police search for a missing person. At 9:58 a.m. a caller reported a tree leaning over Bolton Road; the DPW was alerted. At 11:37 a.m. a burglar alarm went off at a business on Lancaster County Road; police found a door open and secured the building. At 8:09 p.m. a Harvard officer responded as mutual aid to an attempted suicide on Swanson Road in Bolton.
