The ambulance responded to 14 calls and transported five patients to the hospital, one with Harvard’s ALS-Advanced services on board, and three with ALS—Paramedics from other towns. The ambulance provided four lift assists. There were no motor vehicle collisions that required ambulance service.
Tuesday, Oct. 28
At 7:56 p.m. a smoke alarm went off at a Barton Road home for no apparent cause. The duty officer responded along with the tower truck, which was needed because the alarm could be reached and silenced only with a long ladder.
Wednesday, Oct. 29
At 4:15 p.m. a fire official investigated reports of previous illegal burns at a Withington Lane location; the investigator confirmed that such burns had occurred.
Thursday, Oct. 30
At 2:38 p.m. Engine 4 provided coverage at the fire station in Littleton while firefighters there attended the funeral of a Littleton police officer. The Harvard crew responded to one medical emergency while there.
Friday, Oct. 31
At 1 p.m. Harvard’s boat and drone team went to Gardner to assist the District 8 dive team at Crystal Lake in the search for a missing person, but the team found nothing. At 7:59 p.m. the duty officer went to a home on Warren Avenue where a fallen branch had brought down a wire, cutting off power to the house. The duty officer warned residents to stay away from the wire and alerted National Grid.
Sunday, Nov. 2
At 11:19 a.m. Harvard firefighters were called to a medical emergency on Interstate 495 northbound, but the call was canceled while one crew was en route and the other was just preparing to leave.
