In the past week, police made 25 motor vehicle stops, 11 resulting in verbal warnings, 13 in written warnings or citations, and one in a civil citation, which carries a fine. Officers also checked on a disabled motor vehicle, made a well-being check, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Sept. 30
At 8:40 a.m. an Oak Hill Road resident called 911, saying there was a chipmunk in the kitchen; units were advised. At 9:54 a.m. a 911 caller reported a wire dangling from a utility pole on Littleton Road; National Grid was informed. At 11:39 a.m. an East Bare Hill Road caller asked for help with a porcupine in their shed; the animal control officer was notified. At 2:57 p.m. someone on Ayer Road said a bus was weaving from lane to lane, but the bus was gone when police checked the area.
Wednesday, Oct. 1
At 12:28 a.m. an Old Mill Road resident called 911 about a possible intruder in the yard; while in the hot tub, the caller had heard someone sneeze. An officer responded and spoke with the caller. At 1:06 a.m. a 33-year-old Brockton man was stopped on Old Mill Road and received a summons for driving an uninsured car with a suspended registration; the car was towed. At 3:40 p.m. a 911 caller reported an incident that began in Harvard and continued in Boxborough. Another driver had kicked the caller’s car during a road rage argument. The 47-year-old Boxborough resident was stopped on Beaver Brook Road in Boxborough and received a summons for disorderly conduct, assault, and vandalism. At 6:53 p.m. someone called to say a car had hit a deer on Littleton Road, and the animal control officer was informed. At 8:37 p.m. a caller told police he had hit a fox near the intersection of Bolton and East Bare Hill roads, but the animal was gone when police checked. At 9:26 p.m. a resident came to the station to report receiving threats.
Thursday, Oct. 2
At 12:20 p.m. a 911 caller reported a minor two-car collision in an Ayer Road parking lot. At 1:17 p.m. a one-car crash on Ayer Road resulted in a person being taken to a hospital by ambulance. At 3:37 p.m. a caller complained about dogs barking on Ayer Road.
Friday, Oct. 3
At 8:27 a.m. police received another call about loudly barking dogs on Ayer Road.
Saturday, Oct. 4
Nothing significant to report.
Sunday, Oct. 5
At 9:14 a.m. there was a two-car collision on Ayer Road; no one was injured. At 4:07 p.m. a caller reported two cars drag racing on Prospect Hill Road, but the racers were gone when police arrived. At 4:32 p.m. someone called about a large dog running loose on Bolton Road.
Monday, Oct. 6
At 8 a.m. a caller complained about barking dogs on Ayer Road. At 9:25 a.m. Harvard police provided backup as Boxborough police arrested Philip Aquino, 33, of Hudson, and Morgan Anne Griffiths, 29, of West Brookfield. Each was charged with possession of several types of drugs, as well as intent to distribute drugs. At 12:11 p.m. police served a warrant to transport a 61-year-old Mass. Ave. resident to a treatment facility, under a state law that allows involuntary commitment if a person has an alcohol or substance-use disorder and poses a serious risk of harm to themselves or others. At 4:52 p.m. a person called about turning over some guns to the police.
