In the past week, police made 25 motor vehicle stops, 12 resulting in verbal warnings and 13 in written warnings or citations. Officers also helped one person locked out of a car, checked on two disabled motor vehicles, made one well-being check, issued or renewed one firearm permit, and responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, Oct. 21
At 3:57 p.m. someone called with suspicions about an unfamiliar minivan on Park Lane. At 11:34 p.m. police notified the Department of Public Works about a dead raccoon on Still River Road.
Wednesday, Oct. 22
At 11:22 a.m. two people who were walking their dogs on Old Littleton Road reported an alarm sounding at a home there; an officer investigated and cleared the alarm. At 5 p.m. police helped a tenant who was locked out of an apartment on Ayer Road. At 5:35 p.m. a 911 caller reported illegal hunting near Ayer Road. At 8:20 p.m. an officer told several people with flashlights at the town beach to leave, as the area was closed after dark.
Thursday, Oct. 23
At 9:40 a.m. someone on Ayer Road complained about barking dogs. At 2:19 p.m. there was a minor two-car collision on Ayer Road; no one was injured. At 3:10 p.m., near the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Stow Road, a school bus driver said the road was closed; an officer opened it so the driver could drop off some students who lived there. At 3:43 p.m. an officer asked a paving truck to move because it was blocking Littleton Road. At 9:34 p.m. someone called 911 to say there was a dead beaver on Ayer Road; the DPW was notified.
Friday, Oct. 24
At 11:03 a.m. a caller reported suspicions about a car on Old Mill Road. At 12:32 p.m. Harvard officers were called to assist Boxborough and state police on Interstate 495 northbound. A 37-year-old Hudson woman received a summons for assault and battery on a police officer and disorderly conduct. At 2:41 p.m. Harvard police issued a summons to an 81-year-old Hudson resident for leaving the scene of a collision that caused property damage on Stow Road.
Saturday, Oct. 25
At 9:56 a.m. a caller reported a dog that appeared lost on Stow Road. At 11:33 a.m. someone came to the police station with suspicions about a vehicle near Willard Lane and Still River Road. At 1:04 p.m. a caller said there was an injured dog on Mill Road, and the animal control officer was notified. A second call about the dog came in at 1:24 p.m. At 4:19 p.m. someone called with suspicions about a car on Stow Road.
Sunday, Oct. 26
At 9:05 a.m. a caller said there was a yellow canary in the backyard, possibly someone’s lost pet; the animal control officer was notified. At 8:21 p.m. someone called 911, seeking an interpreter to help with a custody issue in Boxborough.
Monday, Oct. 27
At 12:51 a.m. an officer checked on a car in an unusual location on Ayer Road. At 10:32 a.m. a caller said some traffic cones had blown into the roadway on Mass. Ave., and the DPW was notified. At 4:37 p.m. a low-flying drone was reported near Swanson Road on the Harvard-Boxborough town line. A search of the area did not turn up the drone.
