Bromfield junior Noah Petrossi finished his 2025 season among the Top 10 golfers at this year’s Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association boys golf state tournaments.

Petrossi, entered as a qualifying individual, tied with two Clinton golfers for fifth place in the MIAA Division 3 Central tournament, held Oct. 15 at the Shining Rock Golf Club in Milford. And his +10 over 72 score (72 being par for the 18-hole Shining Rock course) was good enough for him to qualify for the state tournament two weeks later.

This week at the MIAA Division 3 state championship against much tougher competition, Petrossi tied for eighth place among the 89 participating golfers with a score of +7 over 72. The event had been postponed for a week due to bad weather, but was finally held Oct. 27 at Blissful Meadows Golf Course in Uxbridge.

Petrossi got off to a slow start with double bogeys (2 over par) on the first and third holes, but he settled down for 10 even-par holes, two birdies (1 under par) and four bogeys (1 over par) for the remainder of the course. He shared his eighth-place tie with Drew Broderick of Tewksbury and Drew Richards of St. Paul II of Boston.

Aiden Connell of Seekonk High School was this year’s Division 3 champion with a score of +2 over 72. Old Rochester Regional of Mattapoisett was the winning team. With a 6-8 win-loss record, Bromfield’s varsity golf team did not qualify for this year’s sectional or state tournaments.
