Honor our veterans
There will be a Veterans Day ceremony Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. on the Common, with a veterans formation, wreath laying, and buglers from the Immaculate Heart of Mary school. The timing of the event marks the armistice ending World War I, which took effect on Nov. 11, 1918, at 11 a.m.
Volunteer for Town Charter Review Committee
The Select Board seeks residents to serve on the Town Charter Review Committee. The committee will study the existing Harvard Town Charter in detail, gather input from residents and town committees, recommend amendments to improve town governance, and draft warrant articles for the spring 2027 Annual Town Meeting. Members should be prepared for a year-long commitment.

Hunting season is open
Residents are reminded that deer hunting (archery) season has opened, and that hunting is permitted in state wildlife management areas. The 2025 summary of hunting season dates is available at mass.gov/doc/2025-fishing-and-hunting-season-summary/download.

New, updated trail guide available
The Harvard Conservation Trust has released its first updated edition of the Harvard Trail Guide in almost 15 years. Inspired by elements from the previous edition and continuing in the same spirit, the new guide has full-color topographical maps and photographs and includes recently added lands and trails. Enter raffle for photo session
The Harvard Conservation Trust announces that new members joining the trust through Dec. 5 will be entered into a raffle to win a holiday family photo session. Loaves & Fishes serves federal workers
The Loaves & Fishes food pantry, 234 Barnum Road, Devens, serves food to people in need who reside in Ayer, Devens, Dunstable, Groton, Harvard, Littleton, and Shirley. Pantry hours are Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m. to noon; first Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m.; third Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon; last Thursday, 9 a.m. to noon. Visit loaves

During the current government shutdown, the pantry will be open additional hours, Wednesdays 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., for federal workers only, regardless of place of residence. Bring a federal ID card. Hazardous waste collection
The Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will receive hazardous waste on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 8, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at 9 Cook Street (rear), Devens.
