Real estate taxes due Nov. 1
Real estate tax payments are due Saturday, Nov. 1.
Cash or checks may be brought into Town Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday. Checks may also be left in the drop box in front of Town Hall at any time.
Online via UniPay by electronic check, credit, debit, or bill pay through your personal bank. Bill pay checks are accepted but if using bill pay, taxpayers should mail the checks seven to 10 days ahead of the Nov. 1 deadline; late fees will be assessed if checks do not reach Town Hall by then.
A check may be mailed to the lockbox processing center at Town of Harvard–Dept 2700, PO Box 986535, Boston, MA 02298-6535. If not received by the processing center by Nov. 1, it will be sent back to you, and late fees and interest will be applied. If you send payment to the lockbox, you must send a check for the exact amount and a copy of the coupon that is attached to your bill.

Donate Halloween candy
Halloween candy donations are now being accepted at the Harvard Police Department, 40 Ayer Road. Trick-or-treating will be held Friday, Oct. 31, from 5 to 7 p.m., in town center.
Open house at Monty Tech
The Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School, 1050 Westminster St., Fitchburg, will hold an open house for prospective students and their families Monday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. The program will begin in the performing arts center with an overview, and continue with tours of shops until 7:30 p.m. Academic and special education instructors will be available to meet, along with student athletes and club representatives. Hunting season now open
Residents are reminded that deer hunting (archery) season has opened, and that hunting is permitted in state wildlife management areas. Attend community health focus groups
The Nashoba Associated Boards of Health is holding a series of focus groups to discuss community health, factors that influence it, and how to improve it. Individual perspectives are valuable and will help identify the programs and partnerships that residents need. Registration is still open for groups meeting during the week of Oct. 27 in Berlin, Bolton, Boxborough, Dunstable, Groton, and Lunenburg. $25 compensation available. Still River Road repaving underway
Repaving continues this week and is expected to be complete by the end of October, weather permitting. Drivers should use caution, expect delays, and seek alternate routes when possible. Updates will be posted on the DPW webpage at harvard-ma.gov/304/PublicWorks.
Harvard Lions Club citrus sale
The annual Lions Club fruit sale is underway, featuring California navel oranges and Florida grapefruit; 10 lb. sizes are new this year. Sign up at the Transfer Station or Harvard Public Library on Saturdays starting Oct. 25, or order online at harvardlions.com. Orders due by Nov. 14 for delivery Dec. 13. No cash and carry sales.
New, updated trail guide available
The Harvard Conservation Trust has released its first updated edition of the Harvard Trail Guide in almost 15 years. Inspired by elements from the previous edition and continuing in the same spirit, the new guide has full-color topographical maps and photographs and includes recently added lands and trails. Oct. 25 is Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Clean out your medicine cabinet and help keep the community safe. Bring unneeded or expired medications to the Public Safety Building at 40 Ayer Road Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Accepted: tablets, capsules, and patches in original containers or in a sealed bag
Not accepted: needles, sharps, liquids
Remove or black out personal information on labels.

Park-and-ride shuttle to Littleton station
The Montachusett Regional Transit Authority (MART) provides commuter shuttle service connecting Harvard residents to the Littleton commuter rail station. Shuttles stop at the Holy Trinity parking lot at 15 Still River Road and at the business plaza at 285 Ayer Road, and shuttle riders can park their cars at these locations. Hazardous waste collection
The Devens Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will receive hazardous waste on Wednesday, Nov. 5, and Saturday, Nov. 8, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 9 Cook Street (rear), Devens. Closed during rain; reopens when rain stops.
