In the past week, police made 26 motor vehicle stops, six resulting in verbal warnings, 18 in written warnings or citations, and two in summonses. Officers also helped one person who was locked out of a car, made one well-being check, did one mental health evaluation, and responded to a false burglar alarm.
Tuesday, May 27
At 8:44 a.m. a school bus on Littleton County Road backed into a parked car, causing minor damage. At 10:22 p.m. a 911 caller told police three or four cars were driving erratically—possibly racing one another—on Still River Road.
Wednesday, May 28
At 9:27 a.m. a caller reported an injured possum on Still River Road; the animal control officer was notified. At 12:40 p.m. on Pinnacle Road a 51-year-old Townsend man received a summons for driving without a license. At 4:20 p.m. on Ayer Road a 50-year-old woman from Rutland received a summons for driving an uninsured vehicle with a revoked registration; the car was towed. At 4:28 p.m. an Amazon truck hit a house on Stow Road. At 4:39 p.m. a 911 caller reported a car had hit pedestrians near the intersection of Ayer Road and Cortland Lane. At 9:23 p.m. an officer told the occupants of two cars parked at the Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge on Still River Depot Road to move on because the area was closed for the night. At 9:42 p.m. people in cars at the Prospect Hill Overlook were told the same.
Thursday, May 29
At 6:17 a.m. someone phoned to report geese on the Shaker Hills Country Club golf course. At 10:42 a.m. the schools notified police about a missing student; the juvenile was located. At 2:24 p.m. a caller said a loose dog on Ann Lees Road was chasing people and cars; the dog was gone when an officer arrived. At 3:10 p.m. someone reported a sick raccoon on Whitman Road; an officer later found the animal and dispatched it. At 3:40 p.m. a caller expressed concerns about a child apparently alone in a carriage on East Bare Hill Road; but an officer found a parent was present. At 5:32 p.m. police received an anonymous call asking for a well-being check on a child on Pinnacle Road.
Friday, May 30
At 11:19 a.m. Boxborough police requested a Harvard officer to contact an Ann Lees Road resident about a hit-and-run collision in Boxborough. At 6:32 p.m. a Myrick Lane resident called with a complaint about a solar energy solicitor who had come to the resident’s house despite a “No soliciting” sign posted there.
Saturday, May 31
At 9:28 a.m. a Littleton County Road resident told police she had heard someone rattling her door at 1:30 a.m. Police searched the area but found no sign anyone had tried to break in. At 4:45 p.m. officers investigated a collision on Ayer Road; no one was injured.
Sunday, June 1
At 1:39 p.m. a Clinton Shore Drive resident reported their cat was missing. At 3:01 p.m. someone reported finding a dog loose on Route 2 and taking the animal to Gardner; the animal control officer was notified.
Monday, June 2
At 11:04 a.m. someone called 911 for help getting into their locked car. At 4:16 p.m. an officer spoke with a person about a parking violation on Slough Road. At 4:38 p.m. a caller reported a loose dog on Littleton Road, but then told police the dog had gone home.
