In the past week, police made 19 motor vehicle stops, three resulting in verbal warnings and 16 in written warnings or citations. Officers also responded to two false burglar alarms.
Tuesday, June 17
At 8:52 a.m. Bolton police asked for Harvard’s assistance with a disabled car near the town line on East End Road. The vehicle needed a tow, having lost a wheel after all four lug nuts worked loose and fell off. At 12:53 p.m. a 911 caller reported a crash on Littleton County Road in which one person was injured; the car required a tow.
Wednesday, June 18
At 11:38 p.m. someone called to report being awakened by the sound of a car door slamming, followed by a woman screaming, in the vicinity of Ayer Road and Myrick Lane. However, the call was somehow wrongly routed to police in Harvard, Illinois; they searched Ayer Street in that town and found no disturbance.
Thursday, June 19
At 12:42 a.m. the previous caller phoned again, saying they could still hear a woman shouting. An officer located the woman, who was walking on Ayer Road toward the Alltown Fresh store; she said she was walking home and did not need a ride. At 5:31 p.m. someone reported a loose dog on Warren Avenue, and the animal control officer was notified. At 9:23 p.m. a 911 caller said a car on Ayer Road had been swerving erratically and then had turned onto Poor Farm Road; police located the car, which had been parked nearby.
Friday, June 20
At 9:19 a.m. someone came to the station to report that an orange Chevy Cruze had hit their car and then driven off early the previous day. At 1:11 p.m. a woman called for help after a collision on Route 2, saying the state police had been notified but had not arrived; however, state police reached the scene just as a Harvard officer did, too. At 1:42 p.m. a Harvard resident came to the station to report a case of identity theft, saying several unauthorized accounts had been opened in his name. At 1:51 p.m. a caller told police a tree with a big crack was hanging over the power lines on Ann Lees Road; the caller was asked to alert the tree warden. At 3:06 p.m. Boxborough police reported they were issuing a summons to a 60-year-old Harvard man for negligent operation of a motor vehicle on Mass. Ave. near the town line. At 5:53 p.m. a caller said a white pickup had hit a utility pole on Littleton Road, cracking the pole; the truck was towed.
Saturday, June 21
At 7:16 p.m. a Brown Road resident complained an Amazon delivery van had damaged their driveway.
Sunday, June 22
At 12:07 p.m. Boxborough police asked for assistance from Harvard; the Boxborough officers were issuing a summons to a 50-year-old Waltham man for driving under the influence of drugs.
Monday, June 23
At 12:14 a.m. a Still River Road resident reported hearing gunshots from the direction of Devens; a passerby said the noise might have been fireworks. Police searched the area but found nothing. At 9:37 a.m. an officer moved a turtle off Poor Farm Road. At 1:27 p.m. an Old Littleton Road resident reported hearing a burglar alarm from a neighbor’s house; police checked the house and found it secure. At 7:28 p.m. a Prospect Hill Road resident came to the station to report receiving a harassing spam phone call.
